• Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

My bun Fudgie is having the same dental issue again

It doesn't really matter what size category he fits, but I would call him medium size. My small rabbits tend to be around 1.5kg. I have one that is about 2.5kg and think he is ‘average’ size

update on their bonding:

the newly adopted male bun Bucky is very tame, when my female bun Andi nibs him, he does not nib back. So the bonding is approx. 75% complete. However, tonight, Bucky hops over to Andi's territory and already start to hump Andi from behind. I have done bonding since 2007, this is something I never seen before. I even smell the odor of his scent glands

Also, the rabbit rescue told me Bucky is neutered. Now, how do I confirm that? When I clean his scent gland 2 wk. ago, I don't see any testes dangling, so does that mean he must be neutered, or could his testes be embedded at the top somehow?

Having said that, my previous male buns, that were all neutered by SPCA, have all done some humping on the female bun(s) thru out the past decades on occasion. But I didn't expect that it happened so soon, as I have seen the past male buns humped the female bun(s) months AFTER they are bonded. But I have never seen a male bun humps the female when they are not even fully bonded

My male neutered male humped the spayed females during the initial bonding stage after his hormones were settled.
Though as Shimmer did, you will need to ask for his medical records to verify he was neutered.
Well done on the bonding.
