Thank you Omi, poorly - he was in a field and let me pick him straight up. He was / is unweight. His poo's when he first came were hard and tiny and infrequent. He slept a huge amount. However I dont know if he was poorly as in an illness or just suffering neglect and stress.

So from last nights veg only the broc was eaten. Today I will try tiny offerings of other items and yes I agree stick to what he will eat introducing one item at a time.

Yes, I can understand. I must admit I had assumed, perhaps wrongly, it was neglect and stress which was causing his issues.

I've read your vets update and it would appear mostly good news and hopefully nothing major will be found whilst he is under.

It sounds as though he is a bright little bunny though, especially working out how to get out of his enclosure and back again.

It would be so interesting to know just how he got to be where you found him.

Update - he is home, mostly brushed but with some shaven bits. He is very stroppy and I am leaving him to decompress. He is sat on the top of his house (wooden tunnel house) and being very grumpy and grooming himself. He will not come to us - he is very cross. He does not need us poking and messing with him.
I have given him his tea and turned the lights off - tomorrow is another day.

@Omi so many rescue organisations and yet pets are found in the wild - makes me sad. I cant have been the first person to see him, this is a playground in a residential area.

I agree that you won't have been the first person to see him. Sadly this is just another example of our uncaring society these days. Just horrible.

Poor little thing, he will obviously have been upset with the vet visit. Hopefully, by tomorrow he will have realised that the situation for him has now returned to being looked after again.

Chibbs used to do this when we first got her. She was super smart. When she needed actual attention (like her eye cleaning) she quickly learned to come to us and just have it done and she could get back to being a bossy little madam afterwards. I hope Kanga is the same (although less vindictive than Chibbs XD).

Kanga sounds like a lovely bunny! In the first picture you posted I couldn't see where he was, I thought there was just a fluffy bed in his enclosure!! I love how he's already so comfortable with you. Either you're very good with bunnies or he's already claimed you as his human (though I suspect it's quite a bit of both). I also love his name, it's so cute!!!

One of my rabbits, Cinnamon, is also a jumper. We had a 24 in (around 60 cm) dog ex pen we let them run in before clipping their nails and she's hopped over it nearly every single time. We graduated to a 42 in (106 cm) pen, and she turned into a ninja, trying to jump-climb out! If you find a height that Kanga can't jump over, let me know!

I hope everything goes well for you all. It sounds like the beginning for a very happy story to me

Today was hair cut day, Kanga sat on my dads book and had his hair cut - He wasnt impressed by dad at nearly 92 years was thrilled to bits.


Having looked at Kanga's hair cut Dad decided I wasnt allowed to cut his!
