Inspector Morse~ 2nd February 2014. A Tribute to a Legend

Thank you to those who still respond to IM’s tribute thread. I seldom log in to the Forum now so I apologies if there’s a delay in me acknowledging your posts.

Inspector Morse will always be my number one Pet, my soulmate. Our bond was like nothing I have experienced before with any other animal or human. I know it was a once in a lifetime experience, one that few people ever encounter.

In all the 12+ years since I lost him not a day goes by when I don’t think of him. I can remember how much he made me laugh. My memories are not just of the devastation on the day I lost him.

I do believe that in some way that I can’t explain he is still with me. Now my life has changed beyond all recognition it is a comforting feeling that all he was to me in life has not died with his physical being.IMG_9471.jpeg

Lovely to hear from Jane, you are not forgotten. I'm glad that you had that wonderful close bond with Inspector Morse, and that you still feel it, it must be a real comfort to you. I think I can understand, as I still feel that George was my absolute soulmate, right from the moment he was "gifted" to me as an 8 week old kitten. It doesn't mean that I don't love Flora any the less, it's just "different". I like the picture too 😊.

It's lovely to hear from you, Jane. I owe you about a dozen emails and will try to get one on to you soon.

The Inspector touched all our lives in a profound way, further cementing that he was a one of a kind companion. I'm so grateful that you shared him with all of us and do not doubt he will always be by your side in spirit. After the last few years I've begun to wonder about my own soul animal(s) and if I will feel their presences again. Sometimes the mind wearies of searching. I'm so glad you have such a connection to Morse. 🥰

The picture is beautiful. Be well, dear friend. 🥰 xxxx

I never got to meet Inspector Morse. But his legacy is so powerful on here, even a latecomer like me can see how much he meant to everyone. I keep wishing I had a chance to be on here earlier. I love seeing his memorial pictures; you can tell how much he was loved. I can only hope one day an animal will touch my soul in the same way Inspector Morse touched yours ❤️
