How much do you spend on hay each month?

Hiya

I seem to spend an absolute fortune on hay every month. I only have two rabbits. How much do you spend on hay each month?

We probably spend about £10-12 pounds on ours. That's 2-3 bales a month for 13 buns plus boarding buns.

I couldn't afford to have so many buns if I had to buy hay from pet shops in smaller quantities.

I buy mine by the bale from the yard I keep my horse at :) £3 a bale and excellent quality. Im not sure how many bales I use a month maybe 3 :) Litter trays are always full of hay and are topped up twice a day and cleaned out every other day. Thats for 19 bunnies and 2 piggies :)

one order of 10 bales at dust free hay company i think will last 2-3 months so about £10/15 a month. thats for 2.5 rabbits.

You've got your hands full there then!!!!

I spend £40 at the mo, but I really can't afford it, so at the mo, I'm calling round the local stable yards to see if they sell any bales of hay.

Bloomin' 'eck!

i know but a bag of timothy hay costs £9 :shock: and the meadow hay i get thro a bag a week (£2.79 a bag) in the litter trays (pearl never stops munchin) and theres all the other sorts too... im obsessed with hay :lol::lol:

i gets the naturals stuff too

I'd have to go and get a proper job if my hay bill was that much.

I know how lucky I am having a good farm nearby.

ive thought about the farm shops as i could get to one in about half hour, but they do like what i get and i can afford it right now... should i be made redundant any time soon i will have to rethink my spending on hay

I do hope you aren't and not because of the hay! I couldn't think of anything worse (unless you hated your job anyway).:D

I can always bring an extra bale home from the yard if you wanted to pick it up from Shirley Solihull Donna ?

Okey dokey no worries just let me know if you want one and I can grab one after I muck out
