Hi everyone. I have a rabbit with e.c and has done for years. He copes extremely well though with it. Every so often he has course of Panacur but unfortunately after his last extended course his blood test showed his levels of EC were very high still.( There are 2 tests now - one shows if there is a current infection and the other if there has been an infection in the past) His bunny wife has as an almost undetectable level of the infection which is good but puzzling 🤔
Anyway I would like to put them a much bigger enclosure in my spare bedroom. I have a bunny already in there who is single (so far no bonding has worked with her) If their respective litter trays are well apart as their pens would be and they don’t share any floor space at any time, is this safe if I’m really careful with cleaning/disinfecting or not worth risking? I know EC isn’t usually spread airborne but I did read yesterday somewhere that very rarely that can happen although urine is the usual factor. Has anyone ever done this? Are the risks too high even with careful hygiene?

I hadn't heard of it being airborne but, if there is proof of this (how would it even be proven though? :unsure: ), it doesn't seem worth risking.

I think a far greater risk is you being the carrier, eg. as you empty litter trays and replace hay between the enclosures.
