Hidehouse

Jaelyn

Young Bun
hi!
recently I have been trying to find my pet New Zealand doe a hide house because she will hide under her little blankie and I feel like she wants to cuddle up to something.
Any suggestions? I want something she can chew on but I want it to be cozy too.
She is quite big so I have a hard time looking on Amazon.
I will also try a cardboard box but I don't want her ingesting glue or other junk
Homemade to anything online, any ideas will be appreciated. :)

I'd go for a willow bridge she could sit under, or a tube / house made of seagrass.. If she is too big there are laundry hampers and other items made of seagrass you could use. Another option would be to check thrift stores and maybe find some item of furniture, such as a bedside table you could adapt as a hidey house . Then you could give her those chill and chew mats inside. Its nice youre going to get her this, all my bunnies have liked to lie under stuff during the day. I reckon they feel much more secure that way

Look for stuff for cats or small dogs. Small kennels or cat hidey holes will be about the right size. I've use these as shelters in the outside runs, and they've never been chewed despite being used by many rabbits and guinea pigs over the last 20 years. I line them with a thick layer of newspaper (to make it easier to clean out) and stuff them with hay, but you could just use blankets:

Or look for cat tunnels.
Or a basic carrier with the door removed.

she does like to chew but those seagrass woven ones are still too small, although I think that would be perfect for her!!

so I put in a cardboard box and SHE LOVED IT!! I put her inside of it and she chewed it and I am also glad she is only tearing it up, not swallowing it!!❤️❤️:)
