New Kit
Hi, I have 2 male-female bonded pairs that I'm trying to introduce together. Similar ages and sizes. I've bonded rabbits together before and had no issues but this one is proving difficult. One of the males (Henry) keeps nipping and starting a fight with the female from the other pair (Bella). The other female is getting along fine with everyone but Henry is being aggressive which he has never demonstrated before even when going through the bonding process with his bonded partner Robyn. The two boys have done a bit of chasing but they're ok and I think will settle. I've no idea why Henry keeps going for Bella she's a very sweet and friendly rabbit and seems keen to make friends. Has anyone got any suggestions? I've done all the usual kept them side by side, introducing them in neutral territory etc He is ok with her but only for as long as I'm stroking his head. The second I stop he goes for her. Is this bonding doomed to fail? I've had them 2 months. Any suggestions would be really appreciated, thank you

I assume that they are all neutered/spayed ?

How is the interaction between the two Does ? Does Bella show a lot of interest in Henry’s companion ?

Hello, all 4 were neutered long before they were introduced and were living side by side with each other for 5 weeks before I attempted any face to face interaction between the two pairs. Robyn and Bella are both very friendly and the first time they were altogether Robyn went straight over to Bertie and Bella, wedged herself between the two of them, and all 3 were sat together quite happily. When they are in their separate enclosures and Robyn or Henry get too close to Bella on the other side of the wire Bertie has chased Bella away from them but other than that those 3 seem to be doing ok. Henry is used to being the dominant one so it might just be he is trying to make sure he remains the dominant one of the group? Thank you for replying any advice is very welcome!
Thanks
Alison
