Hay recommendations

Young Bun
Hi everyone. I have bought hay from the same supplier for years.
I had a problem with one box as the hay was really dusty and the stems were short - I just used what I could and ordered another, I did reach out to them, but didn't hear back, although that might be my email as they had problems contacting me before. Now 3 boxes later, it's the same, very dusty and short stems. I'm wondering whether to go elsewhere, does anyone have any recommendations? I buy lots from them like dandelion roots, herbs etc.
Thanks.

I've never had a subscription before, it works out quite a bit cheaper, is it easy to cancel? I don't want it to be a hassle to cancel. Thanks.

I darent subscribe to anything much because i am useless at cancelling. I just buy as and when needed

That's what I usually do too. It saves 20 percent subscribing, but it's just something else to remember to cancel or update...

I'm spoilt for choice now!

Is Timothy and oat a good choice is it healthier than just Timothy?

And ings links good as no chemicals, but I'd worry it was too big a change for them.

I wouldn't say it was healthier - its more fattening than timothy or meadow I think. Wheat hay had a good profile for being lower in calories. Rye is quite high in energy too. Sadly my buns didn't love Ings hay so much, v disappointing cos they are local to me & the only hay I've seen sold as organic

Sorry, I repeated myself!! I liked that it was organic too, but don't want to risk buying something they won't eat, especially with a new bunny now.
I might go for the timothy and oat, I need to order soon.

My delivery came on Sunday from HayShed, the first box I opened was just oat hay with no Timothy! the second is a mixture. I've messaged them, I'm waiting to hear back.

I'm not sure what to do about hay now. The haybox as I said before was really poor, with loads of dust, I messaged but didn't hear from them and ordered another which was good, then the following one was rubbish again.

The new hay from hayshed, the Timothy hay is so different from the haybox, I wondered which one is best. Haybox stems are really long, thick with seed heads - Hayshed looks more like regular grass clippings with some dead bits in - but it looks I guess more natural.

Left is Hayshed - Right is haybox

It looks like they are probably from different cuts during the year, hence one being finer & leafier, and the other being stalky with seedheads.
Which one do the rabbits prefer? They don't always go for the one you think is 'best'.

I'm not sure which they prefer, they seem to eat both, but get most excited by the Oat! I'm giving them about 30 to 40 percent oat and the rest Timothy.

Update! Hayshed sent me a new box of Timothy hay to mix with the Rye :) I've got to say their dandelion roots are the best my bunnies have ever had - they're really crunchy and nibbly which means they last longer than ones I've bought before, which can be quite soft.
