Hay hay everywhere!!!

Ok - I came to expect that I would find hay all over my house/clothes for the rest of eternity! But now with two of them it is certainly getting beyond a joke! Every room just looks like a farm!
I've seen some peoples pictures on here of their indoor bunnies! How DO you keep the hay to one place? Or are you just REALLY good at cleaning up before taking pictures?!

I have a big dog carrier as a feeding/drinking station, which helps keep it contained. I do have the litter tray with hay in it - but except for wee's she isn't using it at all and just pooing everywhere. On a bad day I'm generally giving the place a good sweep 2-3 times. On a good day well over 5. And in between, running round with a hand shovel and brush as soon as she does stray bits - I very rarely get chance to just sit and relax for an hour because of it (or even half an hour). They are so messy!

I have these three things for hay:

There are also a couple of underbed storage boxes with litter and hay on top. Pretty deep boxes so it's all contained.

My bunnies have been gone three months now, and I'm still finding hay in corners, on clothes... everywhere, really.

Mine are outside and my house still looks like a farm!! I found hay in my sock today after wondering what the sharp digging pain was

im just really good at cleaning before i take pics lol.. i have 10 buns indoors and me and hubby take turns brushing (loads) it travels up the stairs on socks, it even gets in my sodding oven. Many times ive had to clean the oven before cooking dinner.

I don't take pictures

I only put hay into the litter tray. A bowl has readigrass. Hay only goes a few inches outside the (very big) litter tray :D

Ours are outside. It does get everywhere. And the brush never gets it all up! The other day I was out in our drive and swept up the hay I could and then picked up individual strands of hay that were still there so that they wouldn't blow over into next door's drive. Think he was annoyed as he was sweeping up his drive and asked me to start sweeping up the hay. The ones on the drive now are just the teeny tiny strands no way I can go pick all those up.

this is all about the care. if you give some time you would not have this problem :)

Erm... rude

I hoover at least twice a day because bits on the floor drive me nuts. I've gotten through many hoovers over the years. I use a large dog carrier for their forage box (readigrass and dried forage) which they love camping out in. The litter tray is a huge dog bed almost a metre wide but it still gets spread about. If they're free range I think you're just always picking it up. At least it's only hay and not poo :D

Hay in litter boxes only - but they do like to throw it around. I regularly find hay in between the sheets! Brings a new meaning to "a roll in the hay" :D

Yep... It gets worse when I've been inside the playhouse, moving hay about...

Depends what the hay is too: mine is particularly short and wiry at the moment so it falls out of the racks more readily.

Haha I'm pleased I'm not the only person who thinks that was rude. I clean as much as is physically possible for a teacher who is out of the house from 730-630!
