Do we get another rabbit?

New Kit
I'm looking for a bit of advice.
I had 2 sisters since they were 8 weeks old.
Unfortunately 1 got very sick so she have to be put to sleep 😢
We have now got 1 who is 5.5 years old.
My question is do we get her a companion, a baby or an older female rabbit?

Thanks in advance

I'm sorry for your loss. Yes I'd get her a companion, maybe look in rescues for a 2-5 year old boy. That would be my recommendation

Would they be ok together?
It's just hard knowing what best for her. 😢
Rabbits are pretty much always better with their own kind. Generally neutered boys & spayed girls make the easiest bonding combo, the advantage of rescuing a bun is you can get support with the bonding & take them back iif they really won't get on with your girl. Its hard though isn't it, dealing with your own grief as well as that of your bun

The easier generic bond now would be with a male that was neutered some time ago, and has preferably lived with another rabbit before - so there's no hormonal drive, and both know how to behave with another bun (although they will still have to sort out the heirarchy in a new bond pair). I've always found girl / girl bonds to be the hardest.

Whatever you choose, another companion would definitely improve her quality of life.
