Dara - 13th November 2025 💔

This photo was taken about an hour before Dara was PTS. How she presented as being ‘well’ is incomprehensible. The only reason I found a mass was during her weekly health check. There were no other symptoms at all. She had a CT scan and the results came as a huge shock. But at least it meant Dara did not suffer. We gave her a few days of lots of treats and TLC. She did become slightly more lethargic and started to drink vast amounts of water. But the thing that led to us letting her go yesterday was the rate of tumour growth. In just a few days it almost doubled in size. It was only a matter of time before a catastrophic event occurred.

My Vet has carried out a PM and the findings so far are exceptionally unusual. We are awaiting the findings from samples sent to the path’ lab. Whilst any information gained cant help Dara it might help other Rabbits and the knowledge gained will benefit my wonderful Vet.

Thank you again to those who have responded to Dara’s thread x

It is clear she loved you as much as you loved her. Sending lots of hugs and love to you and JJ. They had a lovely bond and it was good that JJ was able to say goodbye to his pretty little friend.

You have some wonderful photos of Dara. I like the one with Dara and John Joe on the bunny bed. It looks like Dara is protecting JJ. My favorite is the one outside on the grass. I imagine her running through the meadow at the rainbow bridge with the inspector and all your bunnies.

I did laugh at the wobbly-topped pot photo :D And her saying JJ is 'Mine!' on the bed :D

I hope the findings push domestic rabbit research and healthcare provision forward.

What a beautiful portrait 💖
Thinking of you as you remember your lovely wee lass. I'm sorry this happened to her. 😥
My heart goes out to you, dear friend. xxxx

Dara looks very peaceful in your canvas print. Your editing is masterful and she looks like she It will be a lovely part of her memorial.
It is so sad she had to get an aggressive lymphoma tumor at such a young age. I know how much you must be suffering now so she did not suffer.
Sending you and JJ lots of live and gentle hugs.
