Clay bunny bowl chipped

Fuzzhead

New Kit
So just now I chipped my bunny’s water bowl that he’s been drinking out of forever now, and I rides it immensely so the dust wouldn’t mix with his water. Is it still safe for him to drink out of?

Difficult to advise without seeing the damage. But I think there are two small risks with the chipped bowl. Firstly, if we chip any crockery we stop using it, as it's possible that bacteria could enter with missing glazing. Also, it's possible but probably unlikely that your bunny could hurt himself on the damage.

I'd personally just get an alternative bowl to make sure.

I've used superglue on large, clean chips on the outside of ceramic bowls before. It seems to hold well if done immediately (so you get a really good, clean join), and it isn't in contact with the bowl's contents.

The issue with cracks and chips is that they do get grot and bacteria in them which is very difficult to keep hygenically clean, so that's why they generally get replaced. No-one likes using a chipped cup in a cafe.
