Casper & Saar

I have some recent photos.

My mum had gotten them their daily forage (I haven't been able to get it myself in ages now) but it was really wet, so I had spread it out a bit so it could dry some before I put it away. It didn't take long for Casper to find it:

Of course, he then went to sit in it, and when I put it away later I didn't realise that he had peed in it until I felt that a lot of leaves had gotten wetter rather than drier :ROFLMAO:

Saar's still enjoying her house on her platform a lot:

Casper's been sitting there a lot now, too, so I'm glad he's getting some exercise from going up and down the ramp.

He still gets on his bridge, too:

Here he's wearing a very fancy ear scarf:

Then he travelled to dream land and fell over :ROFLMAO:

He's napping a lot, too:

He's been very quiet during the day, and not really having much of an appetite, but he's been to the vet, who couldn't find anything wrong, so he thinks it's just his age, and him not being as hungry because his guts aren't functioning very well anymore. He picks up a lot in the evening, though, when we all eat together and he's his happy little self. He often jumps into my lap asking for snacks, and Saar must've noticed, because she did it, too, last night  She of course got the snacks she wanted:

He has been doing better since I've started him on CBD oil, too, though, so here he is, enjoying his greens ❤️

It was my birthday yesterday, but they didn't throw me a party like I did for them, nor did they sing me any birthday songs. A bit disappointing, I admit. They did get me some books for my birthday, though, so that's very nice of them. They arranged it with my mum, so they must've gotten together when I wasn't looking, or maybe used bunny telepathy. Casper and I had lunch together, and later Saar tried to eat my apple pie + ice cream combo, which was a big no no. I love her, but I'm not sharing my pie with anyone :ROFLMAO:

Saar and I have been sitting outside together some mornings, when it's not too wet. She found a stick somewhere that she's been chewing with great attention. I think she probably yanked it out of a pot where it was supporting a plant. She also loves rain water, apparently. She'll lick it off the ground, out of pots, everywhere. She doesn't much like getting it on her feet, though.

They bought you books & to me it sounds like they threw you a pee & poop party 🤣 I think they did good

I love the dialogue as much as the photos. Cutie Pies❤️❤️ It sounds like Casper has a good thing going, snoozing away his days & becoming all interactive & sociable in the evenings..teaching Saar to get treats by jumping on your lap too. Good boy for doing his physio on the bridge.

I can't believe he peed on the forage. Well I can but 🤣🤣

Bless them! They both have wonderful lives with you. It is so nice for your mom to to get them forage!
Happy Birthday! Celebrating with two bunnies is my idea of a great birthday.

Happy Birthday Reader ❤️ I never knew rabbits could be such good gift givers, but then again maybe they were hoping you'd let them eat it 🤣

I'm glad the CBD is working well for Casper. Hopefully it'll continue to perk him up!

Rainwater is delicious, but I can understand Saar not wanting to get her feet wet. Does anyone want to walk around in wet socks????

Belated happy birthday Reader, how lovely for the bunnies to get you some books. Beautiful photos as always, and like J & B I really enjoy the dialogue too. That's a lovely pile of forage that your mum brought, naughty Casper peeing on it 😂 Hope you've got more pie to enjoy 😊.

Many (belated) Hoppy Returns! Me and the bunnies have agreed we're not doing presents anymore XD Doesn't stop Matt's colleagues including them in the fuddle* though: he often comes home with bunny treats and, to be fair, at the bunnies' age, they can have what the want XD They got a hay-stick the other day and I think they really liked it because there wasn't even any mess (like I get with hay cookies)!!!

*Fuddle: a get-together at work/similar with food brought in by those attending. I'd never heard this word before moving to the Midlands so I suspect it's semi-regional at least. I knew it as a bring-&-share, or indoor picnic!

That wasn't really the kind of party I'd hoped for; I get one of those every day :ROFLMAO:

Yeah, he's just embracing the old man lifestyle, I think ❤️ If he seemed uncomfortable or was losing weight, I'd be more worried, but his weight is stable as ever, so he must be getting enough food into his tum.

I honestly should've expected it and not just grabbed handfuls of it without checking :ROFLMAO:

Aw, thank you for thinking so. My mum's amazing, getting them their forage every day, even when it's super wet outside.
And thanks! Sharing your birthday with bunnies is the best, I agree

Aw, thanks ❤️ They do frequently attempt (and succeed) to eat my books, so you might be right that there was a hidden motive there :ROFLMAO:

Thank you!

I've never been brave enough to taste rainwater, but clearly you have! Wet socks are disgusting, though, you're right.

Aw, thank you, PM. I'll never understand why somebunny'd pee on their food :ROFLMAO: No more pie, sadly :( It was just a tiny little one for one person. I got most of my birthday treats at a high tea at the local alpaca rescue last Thursday, though

Thank you! See, that wouldn't work for me; I love giving and receiving presents too much :ROFLMAO: I'm glad you explained what a fuddle is. It's a funny word, I like it. That's really sweet of Matt's colleagues to get Barrie and Chibbs treats, aww. It doesn't sound like the bunnies object to them; are you sure they agree with your no-presents deal? :ROFLMAO:

I've made shadow boxes for Casper and Saar to go with Sophie's one:

I'm just noticing one little flower has disappeared from the bottom of Saar's. Where could that have gotten to...

I think I might paint Sophie's frame the same colour, but my brain can't figure out right now how to do that without painting the vinyl decorations on it as well.

I've been washing Saar's syringes. Since she was on four, then five, injections a day, most of them pre-filled at the vets, I have about 150 1ml syringes that have only been used once, so it seems like a shame to throw them away... I've been meaning to ask the wildlife rescue if they want them. I'm pretty sure we used them when I volunteered there.

I'm still trying to get myself to sort out their remaining things, too... When I happened to talk to the local rabbit rescue (not Saar's) in December they said they'd be happy with the hay and food and carriers and hay feeders and everything else, so I said we'd bring them over when I was ready to let them go, but I haven't felt up to cleaning everything yet.... It's hard, thinking of my home without any of their things in it :( I hope they don't think I've forgotten. I've been wanting to ask my neighbour if she wants their doggy food puzzles for her dog, too. There's so many things to find a good home for...

I've repurposed some of their houses as plant stands, and their little cake plushies are now pin cushions, since I didn't have any. I want to reuse the fabric of their beds to make a quilt, to remember them, but I'll have to learn how to do that first...

I just really miss them. Life's so hard without them :(

They were such beautiful and funny bunnies ♥️ i do miss hearing about their quirky antics . Its been really nice just now to re-read their thread. Your artwork is beautiful and your photo choices reflect their personalities so well. I am happy to see Saar with her stolen tree ♥️😂
Its no wonder you miss them so much, they were your world and you made their world perfect. I said goodbye to Rudey, joey and Mouse over about 18 months and i thought that was tough. Sending hugs

I've so enjoyed looking through this lovely thread once more, such wonderful photos of your lovely bunnies. Of course you miss them, you can tell how much you loved them Reader, sending you the biggest hug.

i love the shadow boxes you have made 😍 it’s no wonder you feel the way you do. Thinking of you and sending hugs xx

It is quite wonderful just how these souls burn into our hearts, we are so lucky to have had our pets but it is beyond hard when they go. There is no rush for you to do anything, this is your time with your memories and the world can wait until you are ready. Be kind to yourself and enjoy your memories.

Beautifully put

The little shadowboxes are just perfect. I think I may have an answer to where that missing flower on Saar's shadowbox went. My favorite internet bunny must've come down from wherever bunnies go after their final goodbye, to take one last nibble of something she shouldn't. Sweet girl, I always loved hearing about her escapades, like the time she ate your beaded curtain 💔. The quilt you've planned will be wonderful, I just know it.

Sending you the biggest of cyber hugs my friend ❤️
