Casper & Saar

Great job on the bed! I consider it worthy of an award if I take the time to take out the sewing machine to begin with 🤣 Consider the subsequent poos as the bun's approval!

Happy flop day ❤️

I'm pretty sure I would be Saar if I were a rabbit. Obsess over food? Have a destructive and mess art project? Constant cuddles? Check, check, and check!!!

I love how little Casper looks next to Saar, it's so sweet and funny at the same time, I don't know whether to laugh or awww ❤️❤️

Casper and Saar both look very happy and adorable. The bed looks nice too and I am impressed you made it round. These photos are treasures.

I have some photos. Please don't mind Casper's dirty bum in some of them. He's been really struggling with his tummy since his dental and his mucus issue has been worse than it's ever been before :( The vets haven't been able to find a reason yet, but he's getting probiotics, just in case. I'm not sure they're doing anything, but he loves it, so at least it's a nice treat for him! It seems, though, that he's unable to tolerate any dry food at all now. I've only let him have his soggy pellets and fresh greens since Friday and he's much, much better now. His worst day was after they'd had a bunch of dried alfalfa, which is quite tough with all the hard stemmy bits, so it must've irritated his guts the same way dry pellets normally do.

They were so sweet last night. I normally spend all evening with them in their room, since they hardly ever leave it, but I was feeling really unwell last night so I was just napping on the sofa and when I woke up Casper came to sit on the sofa with me for a while, and he and Saar kept me company in the living room ❤️

Here's Saar getting a raisin. Don't tell her there's a pill inside, please 🤫

Casper jumped on my lap while I was working on a present, so he got some grass and dandelions. Thankfully he didn't pee on it :ROFLMAO:

I have discovered hand sewing something on my lap is not a good idea. I have repeatedly attached my pajama pants or my blanket to what I'm working on :ROFLMAO:

Aw beautiful photos as always Reader, and how lovely to join you on the sofa 😍 I hope you feel better yourself too.

Ha ha, they are all so cute. Casper seems to be doing his best to show us his dirty bum 🤣 I love that photo of him lying out on his bed. I'm glad you have managed to get his poops better on solely wet food. I mean obviously it would be nicer & more convenient if he could tolerate dried food too but that doesn't sound realistic for him. Mouseys digestive system became intolerant to lots of stuff, she was mainly on lighter greens, herbs & dried forage.

Saar & Casper really do look so cosy & happy. I love that you are sharing regular photos with us ❤️ Its nice to hear they are such empathetic buns, coming to spend time with you when you were feeling unwell ❤️❤️❤️ I hope you are feeling better now

Psst, Saar, that's not a pill, it's a fun-flavored candy. Trust me.

I'm sorry Casper's tummy's been bothering him. But dirty bum and all, it's still the cutest bunny bum and he's not afraid to show it. Be proud of who you are Casper!!!

Better you pajamas than your legs, reader! Sending vibes that you feel better (and that you don't accidentally stab your legs!) ❤️

Both bunnies look very bright and happy. The photos where one has their head under the other one make me smile. I am glad Casper is eating his soggy pellets and greens and am sending both positive vibes for the future.

Thank you  I am feeling better now!

Oh yeah, you gotta be on the ball when sewing like that XD I sit curled up on the sofa so I've had a lot of practice ;P
On the ball is usually very far from where I'm at :ROFLMAO: I clearly need more practice, too!

He definitely doesn't care who sees :ROFLMAO: Thank you. Yeah, if this is what works for him, then that's what we'll do. I remember Mousey's sensitive tum. Did she get mucus, too? In all the years of reading about bunnies I've never read anything about bunnies getting mucus for Casper's reasons. It would be nice to have some more information, although I suppose it wouldn't change much.

They do seem happy, and they're the sweetest buns, really ❤️ Thank you for hoping I'm feeling better ❤️

Thank you for telling her. She either hasn't found out about the pill yet, or doesn't care!

Thank you for caring about Casper's tummy, too. He's definitely not ashamed of his dirty bum :ROFLMAO:

That is a very good point! Although I have stabbed myself several times :ROFLMAO: I wonder if they make thimbles for legs. Thank you for the vibes ❤️

Saar is making short work of the yummy dandelions As Casper waits for his turn. She does not look like a bunny with a tummy tumor. Casper always loks cute.

Well if Casper doesn't care then why should we.

Mouse got v soft poop (I can't spell diahrrhea..despite googling it 🤣 ) but not mucus in her poops, no. Rudey did, his digestive system was all over the place, poor boy. I may have other experiences I can't remember, sometimes I forget the bad stuff. I remember it suggesting irritation of the stomach...or inactivity

Aw bless her, she's enjoying that isn't she, I watched with sound off 😊.
She enjoys anything edible! ❤️

Casper, sadly, did not get his turn before she ate everything! I'm amazed at her appetite considering she has a tumour on her stomach.

I love seeing a bun enjoy a meal! That's very cool with the link, reader. How'd you do that?
Ah, when you open a video on the Google Photos website there's an option to share it and create a link!

Sounds like you need greaves :D
That would be amazing! I will go and find myself a blacksmith to make me some sewing armour :ROFLMAO:

Well, personally I'd prefer him to not have a dirty bum :ROFLMAO: It's not so bad now it's getting colder and there aren't many flies to worry about, at least.

Ah, I see. That can't have been nice for her. Poor Rudey, too, with his digestive system being all over the place. That's what I've mostly gathered, yeah, that it's because of irritation. The dietician I consulted said that when things (like something hard or sharp) bother the guts, they get coated in mucus to protect the gut lining, and then it all comes out... I'm just not really understanding why something like dried plantain would do that; that's not hard or sharp or pointy or anything...

Oh yeah, sorry, I was mainly speaking from an aesthetic point of view, obviously its not good there is the risk of fly strike (I'm glad thats majorly diminished now as the flies go) & that he got an upset tum in the first place.

It would be nice to better understand his tummy sensitives. It almost sounds like he can't tolerate too much fibre. Is there a possibility his metacam is causing any sensitivity to his gut lining? I'm thinking you might have explored this already but my memory fails me

I think I'm the only one who cares about it from an aesthetic point of view, too :ROFLMAO: Half the times he has laser therapy I'm apologising for his dirty bum or feet if he managed to get himself dirty just before we left the house, and they always tell me it's no big deal :ROFLMAO:

Yeah, it would be. The vet said today that it's likely just his age, and that it's common for older bunnies for their guts to not function well anymore, but that usually they don't tolerate fresh food very well anymore and need more hay, rather than the other way around like with Casper. I hadn't thought of fibre... I guess if you measure by weight/volume, dried stuff would have more fibre than fresh stuff? Since fresh would have a lot more water... I'm not sure about the Metacam; the vet today said it can cause stomach issues, but didn't mention gut issues. I think it's absorbed in the stomach? I don't know if it actually makes it into the gut...
