Butt sniffing during bonding

New Kit
Hi all, I'm trying to bond my two bunnies, one neutered male, spayed female. They're about 2 and have both been neutured/spayed for almost a year. I rescued the male first when he was only a few months, then a year later rescued the female who was being fostered after she was found dumped (shes got a bit PTSD).

Everything's going relatively well, only issue is that the female constantly asks to be groomed, like every 5-10 mins. Sometimes he gives in, but other times he starts sniffing her butt and she runs away. Most of the time he doesn't chase her just let's her run off. But he only does this when she asks to be groomed. And the butt sniffing is really the only negative thing that is making things tense.

Will this go away? Should I worry? Should I let them figure it out on their own? I've read this is a dominant issue, but it's been going on for a week now - ask for grooming -> butt sniffing -> runs away.

Thank you!

I also would just give them more time and would not be concerned, unless the behaviour resulted in actual aggression.

I hope it goes well.
