Bunny had Ulcer after dental U/D post 35 - pseudomonas aeruginosa

I am so pleased that things are improving a bit now for you and hope they continue to do so. You have given them the best care.

Willow is still doing well, she’s eating, seems to be moving about a far bit better.

We are still waiting to hear back on Sean results. She’s eating well, coming for cuddles again, the only thing is she’s very wonky these days lol.

I can imagine it’s putting her off balance because she doesn’t have sight in her remaining eye.

She’s still lives her snuggle pods.

We’ve had a few instances of Ozzie scaring her a bit, mainly when he approaches from behind but he’s been a good partner so far, her wound has been left, and he’s giving her lots of fusses.

Just a few more sleepless nights to go!

Next I need to look at enrichment for them both to keep them both happy but not too many hazards for Willow.

ohhh that looks lovely, is that your shop?

I bought a bed of Amazon in a pinch, but neither of them have used it, but I don’t think it’s snuggly enough as the sides don’t come
Up enough.

This is the most it has been used so far lol

Awww, a cute photo nonetheless ❤️ No, not my shop, it just popped up in my feed. I did used to make my own. I've no sewing machine skills so only ever made stuff for my buns.....they were a bit rough & ready but most survived a suprisingly long time as they were always in the wash. I think they need lots of side padding to work well. A reader of books sent my Boo (no longer with us) a snuffle mat & she really liked that, also treat filled stacking cups but supervised so no unnecessary obstacles left behind

Yeah we have stacking cups for them to play with already, which we supervise because Willow is a little so and so with chewing things and she’d nibble the edges of them lol.

They have a snuffle mat too, although Willow looks at me as if to say you expect me to work for my food? lol

They’ve got the rosewood balls which they like, though I pick them up of an evening, I’ve got a wooden thing with pegs to help with making feeding herbs and things a bit more fun rather than just their bowls.

They did use to have pellets in balls, but we stopped giving pellets a long time ago with Willow’s weight needing adjusting. Cause she’d wait for Ozzie to do all the hard work then hoover up his pellets behind him lol.

They’ve the grass mats, grass houses etc which she likes ripping up. It’s mainly Ozzie I think we’re just going to have to think of some things to keep him entertained but Willow safe.

She looks wonderful FireRose, I'm so glad she's doing so well. Her fur's growing back nicely, she's such a gorgeous little one. And Ozzie sounds like the model husbun, being so considerate of Willow. And you've done well yourself, with how determined you've been to keep both Willow and Ozzie healthy. It shows ❤️

Well done all of you. I hope maybe you can now get some rest!

Up on the sofa by herself last night!!!

It’s not much to some but she came up to see me gave me a kiss then Ozzie had to come and see what was happening so she jumped down.

Back at the vets on Friday!

We’ve also had some FANTASTIC news, when she had her eye removed, they did another swab of her eye, the bacteria is now GONE!!! Woohoo!!

She’s to stay on the Exocin drops and the serum for a while longer just to be sure, she still has some plaque on her eye too. However when she was sedated they did some cross linking in her remaining eye. So that’s strengthened up the cornea.

Hopefully once the plaque is all gone, they’re fairly certain her vision is going to come back.

I am a little worried today, because the plaque has a hole in the middle, same as how her other eye went, which I’m hoping is not going to be the same outcome.

But we are back at the vets Friday for stitches to be removed. But then FINALLY I can perhaps sleep in a bed, because I haven’t since October 30th left the sofa and my old bones are hurting lol.

I'm so happy to catch up on your updates. It's wonderful to hear she's been up on the sofa by herself to see you and give you a kiss, and that she's been eating and moving around a lot better ❤️ I'm so glad for Willow and you that things are looking up, and that you'll maybe be able to get some sleep in an actual bed soon! Sending Willow my very best vibes for a positive vet visit on Friday.

She's a real cutie, and Ozzie, too. I love the photos of her with her beloved Snugglesafe. None of my buns have ever cared for them!

Haha they fight over them! I wouldn’t mind but we have 2 down at one time and they argue over the same one.

She’s the same with the ice pods too.

But yeah fingers crossed for Friday, thank you for your well wishes! I am hoping they’re happy with her recovery, the swellings gone down on her wound, it’s stayed dried so we shall see!

I had a beautiful bun, Mousey, who would curl round & sit on her snugglesafe, like your pair  but like Reader, all my other buns have rejected them. Its mine now, sitting inside my dressing gown as I type 🤣 That is very cute & very rabbity that they want the same one. It must have felt really special her joining you on the sofa. Any old / pre sickness behaviour returning is a massive bonus.

Well things don’t look good this morning,

Her remaining eye looks to be deteriorating and destabilising just how the other eye went.

I know she hasn’t had sight since October and to be honest she will probably be glad to have the eye out. But I am absolutely heartbroken that I couldn’t do anything to help/fix Willow this time around.

We are at the vets tomorrow but I’ve taken a picture and sent to the vets for them to pick up anyway.

I am going to guess she is going to loose both eyes at this point.

I am broken, mentally, physically and I feel so heartbroken for her as I do honestly feel this has all been for nothing.

I’m a broken lady this morning. My partner is back to work on Wednesday, so anything from here on out is all me again. It’s been nice having them home the last week.

She had a little bang yesterday going down the hallway, she hopped un to the storage heaters we have (sadly nothing we can do we are an all electric household and it’s council)

I’m wondering if it’s this that’s caused it, which if it is, the eye wasn’t very stable anyway. But I am honestly just broken.

Especially as we thought we was on the other side of the woods and could see the light.

I’m so sorry 😢 you have done absolutely everything you could for her, no one could have done any more. Sending lots of vibes and hugs xx

Oh, I’m so deeply sorry to read that her other eye has gotten worse after all, especially when your last updates were so positive. Poor Willow and poor you. No wonder you’re feeling broken; you’ve been on such a very long, difficult, up-and-down journey with her already, and not getting much rest on top of it. I agree with Zoobec and tonibun that you’ve done all you possibly could and have tried so hard. It’s so clear how dedicated you are to her (and Ozzie). I know it’s so heartbreaking when we do all we can and it’s still not enough to keep them well. I’m sending Willow and you so many vibes ❤️
