Bunny flop, not fainting

hi, so I have a nz doe as a indoor house rabbit pet and I have previously saw her lie down
and flip over with her eyes closed and little did I know that she was doing a bunny flop. back
then I thought she was fainting and I was so scared. I am so relived to know that she is doing
this as a good thing and not at all as a bad thing. to all new bunny owners or people who are
experiencing this and also like me thought it was fainting I hope this helped you know that
bunny flops are a sign of extreme comfort and feeling safe. It's just when you see a bunny
throw itself on the ground in a weird position and close it's eyes you naturally get spooked.
I honestly am relived that I know this and that Violet is comfortable in her home

One of my bridge bunnies, Boots, did brilliant DBF (Dead Bunny Flops) he scared the life out of me on a few occasions particularly as he was fairly deaf he didn’t hear me coming in to the room

Ah yes - I too did the panic thing the first time I saw it. I had forgotten rabbits did it and Kanga did it in new bedding - I was using some new absorbant stuff in his litter tray, I thought I had killed him.

First time I ever saw a bunny flop was actually on a wild rabbit, lying in the sun in our backyard. I thought he died, so I went back there to clean up the body, and we both got a good fright!
