Anyone know of any super-fine texture hay at the moment?

I've got so many different hays on the go at the moment, and the ones that the fussy pigs go for are the very fine textured meadow hays, of which I can never really find many around. I expect they are just much easier to eat!

I just wondered whether anyone knows of any that currently match this kind of thing. Thanks!

When I saw the title of the thread, I thought Meadow Hay. Although what hay suppliers call Meadow Hay is usually a mixture of hay and so it will vary in its texture, probably from one company to another, but also from one batch to another. For that reason it's possibly not that useful to get a taster to try.

I haven't used timothyhay.co.uk for a while, but I have always found that they are very accurate in the descriptions on their website. They also are very helpful and so where I have often asked for 'as stalky as possible please', you could specify what you were after. This sounds as though it could be the sort of thing you are looking for

Thanks. To be honest, I'm always a bit wary of sample bags, as piggies are so prone to the novelty effect! They'll be all 'I LOVE IT!!!' until I buy some, then... nope!

We use the haysheds meadow hay and it is very fine, and def finer than the Rye. My buns love it.

I use the timothy hay soft hay which comes in a cardboard box. Both the rabbits and both the guinea pigs love love love it.

They do kind of like orchard grass, but only kind of.

I have just had some hay turn up from the Hay Shed. I hope they like some of it! It makes me laugh how they describe the flavours. Do they eat it to check?

You don't eat hay? I find it makes good interdental sticks I hope they enjoy it, please report back

I'll have to ask the pigs whether they prefer a nutty or sweet flavour!
