All my rabbits over the years. Bonding Snowflake and Moondust. Page 9 for latest bonding.

He absolutely adored it! He licked the dish afterwards for ages!!! He seemed even perkier tonight. I am so pleased.

I feel sooo relieved. It's awful when they are ill.

Moondust stood on her hind legs and craned towards me so she had to have some banana too!

Bonding again!!! Don't want to rush in to these things.

I have tried again as their shed got dangerously hot today (35). I have put them in the front garden (lawn north facing) and set up the as yet unused guinea pig run for them.

So far so good. Moondust hopping around the going over to Snowflake and washing herself. Ever since she has been sitting next to him.

They have sniffed each other but generally are simply sitting in the grass. Hay water and greens all available.

It would be so wonderful if I could keep them together from now on.

Oh my God. I have just been out to the run and seen Moondust vigorously washing Snowflakes head. He has been waiting in a head down position pretty much since they went in together.

I think they need to be together for 48 hours before I can put them back into a newly transformed shed. Mind you if the temperature stays like this I will have to modify the run to make it escape and predator proof cos the shed is like a furnace.

Oh my goodness. Moondust has just been licking Snowflake's eye. How wonderful for him. This is all looking very promising.

I am going to leave them out there tonight. It is still 30 in the shed and anyway the shed needs a good old re-arrange and a clean out as the bonding was completely spur of the moment.

I can imagine that I will be going out to check them regularly during the night.

A few pics.

I think thats one of the cosiest bonding set-up's I've seen. I'm so pleased they are doing so well - its far too hot for humping, chasing or fistycuffs - maybe thats helping

It is wonderful they decided it was time to be friends! Mutual grooming sounds very promising!
Sending lots of vibes they will continue to do well.

Thank you. All unplanned. I had a lovely new run for my new guinea pigs (not settled in enough to put them out yet luckily) and the rabbits needed nice fresh air. I felt so so bad for them in the boiling hot shed.

It is actually a great place for bonding. They can wee all they want and not need cleaning and the grass it all cool and edible. I gave plenty of hay as well. They are both used to handfuls of grass on a daily basis which is fortunate.

I agree re to hot to chase, etc.

They are really calm together. Only Moondust has been doing any grooming but both have had a phase where they sit and wash themselves. A rabbit washing has got to be one of the wonders of the world, surely.

All still fine this morning. They have been laying down next to each other and happily eat together. I love having them so near the house.

Some pics from today. Bonus pic of Rusty in the long grass. He is such a good dog.

It was funny seeing Snowflake and Moondust trying to eat the same bit of cavelo nero! Kind of like Lady and the Tramp with the spaghetti.
