First experience of “spring fever”. Help!

Yes, both neutered! And yes, they’re a boy and a girl. I’ve read so much conflicting information about putting them side by side, and about how it’s better to just keep them together to not break the bond and let them work out the hierarchy again in the new area. They still haven’t had a...

First experience of “spring fever”. Help!

Hello! My buns were newly bonded at Christmas and everything since seemed great. Until today. First I should mention we just moved house at the weekend, so they’re in a new environment but have been fine the last couple of days in a restricted size space which we will expand gradually until...

    Azithromycin and Metacam- correct order?

Hello, So I posted a few days ago about my bunny who was shaking his head and acting weird. We got him to his rabbit savvy vet and in her investigations, assuming the shaking was tooth root related she unfortunately found he has a tumour in his lung and a mass in his chest. While we wait for...

On antibiotics for Snuffles but violently shaking head. Connection?

He is eating fine, both veggies and hay. We’ve had experience of stasis in the past so have fibreplex and recovery paste that we will give him if he stops eating or appears to be slowing down. And he’s on pain relief (Metacam) which was prescribed a few weeks ago so we know is the correct dose...

On antibiotics for Snuffles but violently shaking head. Connection?

Hello, my 8 year old Holland Lop was diagnosed with snuffles about 7 years ago and until now it hasn’t really been an issue. Over the last few weeks he’s been treated for persistent sneezing fits with a little clear to whitish mucus coming out his nose then a runny eye. (During this time we also...

How long for Anaesthetic to wear off?

Thanks for your replies. I ended up calling the vet back and after leaving him for a while and him getting no better, they asked to see him back again- so we took a trip back. The vet said he thinks he's just groggy and disorientated because of the drugs and said they probably let him out...

How long for Anaesthetic to wear off?

My bunny went for his dental today (it turned out the spurs on his teeth were what caused the stasis) he's been home about two hours and he's still really groggy and lethargic. He's hunched up in the corner and when he does attempt to move he staggers like he's drunk and his legs can't hold him...

Any advice? Eating veg but no hay and no poops

Thank you for your help! I reran get the E. Vet and they still maintained he wasn't sick enough to go as he's bright and still eating. He suggested I gave him some cisapride though as we still have some and I'm happy to report that, coupled with recovery and tummy rubs every 2 hours he is now...

Any advice? Eating veg but no hay and no poops

I hadn't considered an ear infection, thank you! I have some Metacam left from the stasis episode, would it be a good idea to give it to him? Or is that just asking for trouble? The emergency hospital doesn't have a rabbit savvy vet on today, my regular vet is a rabbit specialist so if he can...

Any advice? Eating veg but no hay and no poops

Hi, my 2 year old bun was admitted to the emergency vets about a month ago with stasis. He was let out with meds, but wasn't better and ended up going back in that night. 2 weeks later we were given the all clear from the vet and he came off the meds. Last night I noticed his left ear was down...

    Bunnies behaviour changed after neuter

Thanks for the replies. They seem to have settled down a bit now and are back to using their hay racks (although shunning their water bottles completely) so I'm assuming it was just the change in relationship due to the neuter. The thing now is that one of the buns is humping the other again. I...

    Bunnies behaviour changed after neuter

Hi, My buns (both male) have become really destructive (and picky) after being neutered. Almost immediately after the operation they both started chewing at things they never showed any interest in before like the wooden ramp in their cage (which is now all splintered), throwing out all the...

Bunnies not pooping but still eating ceacals

This can be about 7/8 hours without pooping at all at a time, which seems like an awfully long time... Feeding times haven't changed, they fluctuate by about half an hour each way though and they still have constant access to hay, which they eat whenever they want. I'm not too worried about them...

Bunnies not pooping but still eating ceacals

Thanks! It's really strange, it's back to normal again now but i'm worried it'll start again. They have another sort of hay as bedding (on top of a layer of Fitch bedding, which they definitely don't eat) could eating the not so great brown hay be causing it? I just don't know what it is!

Bunnies not pooping but still eating ceacals

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone could help? For a few days now my buns have intermittently stopped pooping. It'll stop for a few hours and then come back (there's tonnes when it does and they're well sized and look normal) but then the next day it will stop again. When it stops they get...

    Anyone else all scratched up?

My bunnies are the same as MrsCoultas' one loves being picked up and cuddled, but the bigger of the two hates it! He'll kick and struggle until you put him down again... strangely likes the vet picking him up though, so maybe it's just me he doesn't like :p

    Floppy paw after Myxi jab

I just thought I would let you know that Gerard has made a full recovery! Thank you so much for reassuring me, I was really worried, but he's certainly back to his usual self! Hooray! I am slightly nervous though, we've got them both booked in for neutering next week. If he's had a bad reaction...

    Floppy paw after Myxi jab

Thank you for the reply! He's definitely eating and drinking normally and even gave me a little ear waggle this morning when I got up so I definitely think he's feeling better  . If it wasn't for the droopy paw I'd almost say he was back to normal. I'll keep an eye on it over the weekend...

    Floppy paw after Myxi jab

Thank goodness you said that! It didn't feel right having them apart! They're getting on fine now they're back together, mainly snuggled up together sleeping! It's made them both a lot happier!
