Available Individual: Urgent special home needed for an older pair, Newcastle-upon-Tyne

Update: very sadly Otto went downhill over the last few weeks and I made the difficult decision to put him to sleep on Friday, he had lost a huge amount of weight and the lump was growing fast :( Bluebell however went to Tuckerbunnies today, where I know she will get wonderful care and...

    Rehoming posts

Hi, just wondering if anyone knows how long it usually takes for a rehoming post to be approved? I sent one two days ago to the moderator for the section (SOAD) but its not yet been read. I'm sure it's just because people are busy but as it's an urgent request and time isn't on my side I'm...

    Spontaneous haematoma - advice please

Sorry it's taken so long to update! Shortly after my last post Otto had an FNA (biopsy) which showed abnormal and likely malignant cells. Unfortunately my usual vet was then off on holiday for 2 weeks, and though I could have had the stand-in vet operate on him, I decided to wait til she was...

    Spontaneous haematoma - advice please

So the good news is the haematoma hasn't refilled, and the buns are happily back together outside. The bad news is that now the swelling has gone down, I'm sure I can feel something more firm underneath :( so going back to the vet tomorrow to discuss next option which is probably excision. I...

    Spontaneous haematoma - advice please

Hi there, I've not been on for a long while - bunnies have been fine! But my bun has a slightly odd issue and I just wondered if anyone else had experience/advice. Picked up Otto today (7 year old neutered boy) to do a bum check and noticed a big lump on his shoulder which must have sprouted...

    Happy 5th Birthday Bluebell!

Bluebell the bunny turned 5 yesterday :) she's a rescue from a friend of a friend who got her from a breeder, so we know her exact DOB which is nice. Her husbun Otto I found as a stray so no idea of his exact age, probably about the same though. We have had the first proper sunny day here for...

    recommend a run

The same metal run is ridiculously cheap from this ebay seller at the mo: 7x3.8ft for £37 including postage http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rabbit-Guinea-Enclosure-Playpen-Run-Pen-Cage-With-Net-216-x-116-x-65-cm-1005-/190680459488?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Small_Animals&hash=item2c6570e8e0 I imagine it...

using run instead of litter tray?

Definitely put another litter tray in the run. I have a cat litter tray in my run inside an old kitchen bin, which keeps the litter/hay dry and makes a nice hidey hole :) If your Dad agrees, putting some paving slabs under the run would make it much easier to keep clean even if he does miss...

My new hammies have a new house :)

Do you mean the 6.5inch Silent Spinners? They don't make 8 inch ones as far as I know, would be great if they did!

My new hammies have a new house :)

Lovely setup, and gorgeous hams  Are the flying saucers the mini ones? Unfortunately I think they are too small for anything but robos, you might be better off with medium ones, or medium Silent Spinners fit hybrids I think :) they often come up second hand on ebay for pennies.

    Any ideas for water bowls?

Screw a plastic ice cream tub to the side of the playhouse? :)

    New hutch

I would keep the wire door, but cut a hole in it and add a short tunnel entrance, then stuff the whole hutch full of lovely hay - makes a nice cosy burrow :) you could also hinge the roof for ease of cleaning if it doesn't open already.

    Omlet Eglu Cube

The run bit looks brilliant :) loads of space. Out of curiosity - I was under the impression that one of the problems with eglus is that the walls are very thick, making the internal measurements of the housing parts a lot smaller than they appear - do you have the internal dimensions at all?

Letting buns out on wet grass

My outdoor buns regularly frolic in wet grass and it's never done them any harm
