At what temperature would be unsafe for outdoor rabbits ?

Mine were fine a few years ago when we had temps of -10 for days at a time. The worst thing was keeping the water from freezing within an hour. I persuaded my husband to run electricity to the shed so we could put in an electric greenhouse heater. It kept the shed at about 1 degree above...

    Metacam question

I've often used out of date Metacam with no ill effects. But you must make your own decision - if you have an issue, I would go to the vet.

I'm seeking some expert bonding advice

I'm sorry to hear you have a poorly doggie :(. Hope he or she is soon on the mend. Don't let age put you off bonding though. I bonded a 9.5 year old doe with a 4.5 year old buck and they went on to have another 1.5 happy years together. Good luck with whatever you choose - Caramel sounds...

    Advice desperately needed!

I would bond them. I've had snuffle-buns who never passed it onto their companions. Company is important.

    Greenhouse Heaters

I used to have tubular greenhouse heaters, with guards, mounted about 6 inches from the floor so that water bowls could sit under them and stay ice-free. Worked a treat. They frequently got hay and endless amounts of dust and cobwebs on them. Never had any problems as they just don't get hot...

    G Tech Air Ram

See I LOVE mine! I find it way better than the Dyson at picking up hay in particular. It NEVER clogs and it always picks up all the hay. I also find it great for dog hair. But as an only 'hoover' it's no good because, as Sarah says, it has no tools. I have a Dyson handheld and an upright...

    Furminator

Avoid - even for dogs and cats! They cut the coat rather than strip out the undercoat. Fine for single coated animals but a disaster for double-coated.

    Low calcium water recommendations

No idea. Probably a long time but since I can easily buy Ashbeck from Tesco, I'll do that!

    Low calcium water recommendations

I just took a look at RO filters and it seems that whilst they DO remove all calcium from the water, they also leave it highly acidic, leading eventually to acidosis in the body. Most RO filters (aside from those in the UK) now put certain minerals back into the water to counteract high acidity...

    Low calcium water recommendations

Oh poo! I thought I was giving one of my piggies low calcium water as I filter everything through a Brita filter jug. Perhaps I should start buying bottled water instead?

    Have I ruined it ??

I'm sure they will be fine. You just need to wait around 6 weeks post spay before introducing them as you need to let the girl fully heal AND give her time to let her hormones settle down. Then make sure you introduce them somewhere COMPLETELY neutral that neither bunny has been before. I...

    Low calcium water recommendations

Does filtering hard water not help remove some calcium?

    WWYD - With this?

I think I'd cut a couple of entry-holes in it and make a hidey.

Now Imogen not eating / Now Smudge again...

Happy to read your update and glad the furbabies are starting to perk up. I remember only too well the stress of them not eating - Pea and Pod were nightmares and we had many bouts of bloat and stasis - some requiring emergency vet treatment. Imogen was always pretty robust whilst she was...

Now Imogen not eating / Now Smudge again...

Have you had an update on how Smudge and Imogen are getting on at Trinity? Hope there are signs of improvement. Imogen usually has a cast iron constitution!

Or you could just grind up their regular pellets (as that's really all critical care is) and make that into a mash instead. I made it really dry so that it barely stuck together but was sufficient to form a mound.
