Yes - very! I use the timothy feeding hay from pets at home, and am fine with that. I've had to develope a special technique though when at the stables and filling my horses net - take a deep breath, go in film part of net, come outside, breathe and repeat!

Unfortunately this can happen with hay, I've know horse hay to contain animal remains :(

my lovely Alfred had cataracts in both his eyes and was blind for his latter years, he coped really well, I was just careful to make sure I didn't move anything, and he was fine - still cheeky about wanting food :)

Have you got any horsey feed places near by? They often sell "plain chop" which is chopped hay (you need to ask though as some are chopped straw), you can also get simple systems chopped timothy too - if there is a local stockist. I hope he starts eating better soon. Have you got any...
