Just a bit of a brag - I have been gradually reducing the amount of Charlies pellets and he has now gone down from 70g a day to 40g. I weighed him this morning and he is holding his weight at 1.8kg, the same as when he was eating pellets only! He has taken to eating forage before he has finished...

I tried Meloxicam on a small slice of apple, with the peel on. I cut grooves across the slice and syringed the meds into the crosscuts. Prince was very happy to take his medicine! When Charlie needed Meloxicam I had to syringe antibiotics into him too, so OH held him in a burrito and I syringed...

Prince seems to have no problem with hawthorn, bramble, raspberry, nor even gooseberry. He loves the leaves, and the flowers. Also has a go at the twigs, although he carefully eats around the worst of the thorns, especially gooseberry. I never give twigs with fruit on though, worried about...

I always cover the cat carrier with a towel, so the rabbits don't feel too exposed. I keep it loosely over the carrier in waiting rooms etc too. I also do this for cats. It seems to make them feel a bit safer.

Ahem! I have to say my Prince does! Well, of course he does! Theres no hay on this Earth that Prince doesn't love to eat! He's just a hay fanatic. Mind you, he's willing to give most plants a go so he's not really much of a conisseur of anything. Charlie, on the other hand, is a lot more...

I count grass as if it were hay. Weeds, wild plants etc. and veg from the shop are counted together. I'm not really fussy about it. They eat what they fancy and leave what they don't.

We used to freeze half a bottle of water (on it's side in the freezer) for the dogs when we took them out in the car on hot days. We stood them upright and filled them with water, so they had cold water to drink and a cold bottle wrapped in a cold towel gave them somewhere to lean against...
