pumpernickle update/lymphoma treatment-4-2-2020-DONOT GET MAD

dear rabbits united friends,-today pumpernickel,4-2-20,-appointment-4:00pm,-[new doctor]-didnot go off smooth-[I guess I was a threat to their peace]---I released the dogs of war,-and i had my say with dr.shorr-he was not impressed,even sending out one of his henchman,and threatening to call the police,--imagine that.-no treatment last week,no explanation,and now told [trust issue]-why should I treat your cat??-he said,-.-any way I woke them up to the fact pumpernicke:love:l was here for continuous treatment,not to be turned way in her time of need.-which dr.schorr-did 3-26-20,-oh,and no consultation,but charging $160.00--I just spent 7 days/nights -syringe feeding her,plus taking her to her pcp for sub-q fluids and anitbiotics,[to keep her alive]--however today-she got the treatment of another drug called[ELSPAR]-asparaginase-injection,-it sells for $44-,he charged $348.00,--isn,t he a wonderful doctor,real humanitarian.-pure greed,-far too many inconsistances-nothing made sense,-I cannot imagine-being someone who would just lay back and let what ever happens ,happen.--I am not designed to be lead to slaughter.-thank you everone I needed all the love vibs to keep my sanity.--I will never go into the dark quietly,not when the baby is involved.-sincerely james waller from the other kent-usa.:love::wave:

It sounds as though it was a traumatic consultation for you on many levels James :cry: With Medical Professionals ( for humans or animals) it is not always so much what they say, but how they say it, that makes a difference. A Vet can say 'I fear we are coming to the end of the road for your beloved * insert name of Pet*, or he/she can say ' There is no point in continuing this treatment and *insert name of pet* should be euthanized'. Both sentences mean the same, but their delivery is very, very different.

As for the cost of the drugs, sadly this can often be an eye boggling issue.

If you feel that Pumpernickle still wants to fight on and that she still has quality of life then you are right to fight with her. At such times it is such a comfort to have a Vet we know, respect and trust and I am so sorry you do not appear to have that now the previous Vet is away on Maternity Leave.

I really hope that Pumpernickle has some positive response to her latest chemo' and that you and your wife will be able to have her with you for a little while longer

So sorry to read your latest post James, your frustration is understandable. You are your wife are doing a wonderful job fighting for Pumpernickel, I'm sure she feels your love, bless her. Hope she continues to be as well as possible for as long as possible. Big hugs xxxx

dear jack,s-jane,-that you for your support,-march 26,2020-pumpernickle should have had chemotreatment,for this oncology doctor to ignore this fact is insane,-everthing was aligned and in place-for her-continuous weekly treatment,-she passed her blood test,there was a discussion for new chemo drug,with anathesia ,paid the bill--left-homeward-all Thursday night she could not eat,about noon Friday 27th,i received the discharge papers--no chemo,only a blood test,.--you could have fried an egg on my forhead,beyond mad,.and-we had to spend everyday- night trying to syringe feed her-every couple hours/with water-,-thank god for miratax -twice a day-plus cbd,-by the following Tuesday[31st]- she had to have 6-8 ounces of subQ fluids,by her pcp.-because her weigh-was 8#[3.63kg]- dropped to-7lb.8 oz[3.5kg?],and severely dehydrated-[she doesnot drink water separately]-her next appointment was Thursday-[4:00pm]-with this clown,-this is why I say I released the dogs of war.-and I got their-attentionn,she got her chemo-[ELSPAR]-and doing very well,her weight is still down but stable.-eating on her own again-weight is up to 7lb.11oz.-it will be a slow climb back to 8lb.[3.63kg]-and there was-absolutely no apology,only an extremely large bill-which is unsustainable.-this doctor?? if he is one,-thinks he is a god,he caused all this grief/money when it was totally uncalled for.-pumpernickle has a tuesday[7th] 11:00am appointment.with this clown.---the good news is dr.briet in renton-blueperal has someone filling in on the 16th,and I cannot wait.--sincerely james waller from the other kent-usa,-I just watched peter rabbit loved it.-

Well Pumpernickle has come back from the brink again James ! I hope that her good response to her latest Chemo' continues. The fact that she's eating for herself again must mean that she is feeling a bit better within herself.

dear jack,s-jane-zoobec,kattymieoww,-thank you all so very much,-yes cats-must- have 9 lives-but pumpernickel was ill as a kitten and treated for about 1 year with meds,and pulled out of it--finding out just lately what I was fighting[feline coronavirus],-her entire family-and many others dropped-dead one by one--,she is a special super feline.-so you can see the attatchment.-,her response to-chemo- elspar,brought me back from the edge.-she is eating well without the miratax[transdermal ointment],so now I need to fatten her up[if possible]-the prednisolone 6mgxdaily is helping also.-I have been juggling my time-for critters for many years no wonder I have white hair.--I live in a secluded compound behind cyclone fence,lots of foliage.-this covid19[china flu bug]-has really hit the world economy,but I have had only minimal problems.--I hear others are not so lucky-I read those covid19 posts and it is heartbreaking,no work,no pay,no food,people will rebel[anarchy] and take matters into their own hands just to feed their children[if nothing else],-the cure must not be worse than the problem.-sincerely james waller from the other kent-usa

dear pets mum,-thank you,-we-just returned from chemotherapy,--the discharge update is not available just yet[too early??]-pumpernickel passed her blood test,chemo drug??- doxorubin[Adriamycin]-by-injection,and lots of other yummy meds.--the best part is this doctor is still awake,-no begging,no police,involvement.-the best part is she is not going back,-pumpernickel will see the oncologist-[16th.]- filling in for her regular doctor ]dr.briet]-5 miles-[6/7 km]- north.-thank god.--update hopefully tomarrow[8th]--sincererly james waller from the other kent-usa--please stay healthy

James, the situation re Covid 19 is utterly dire. We, the Human Race, are going to need some fortitude to get out of this one One thing is for sure, the Western World Economy will be on it's knees for decades to come. What happens in the very poor nations when the peak of the Pandemic strikes does not bear thinking about :cry: Sorry, I have digressed.

dear jack,s-jane--I do share your concern with this china bug.--it seems to help hearing anything good,-ie.I have learned for years now what few news stations give proper investigative/broadcasts.--the others only spread lies and hatred,fake news just to put us down--,i have heard now of suicides--.-just found out the united states pays the bulk of money to keep the w.h.o going--whom have china in their back pocket,and say anything the communist regime tells them[puppets],-so trump said he may pull the plug on them.-he gives nightly briefings [very transparent president]-better than we deserve.-and I am befuddled as to why these bias news stations keep on going-spreading all their venom,hate for all of us..i believe I heard globalism is dead,lets hope so.--I-heard boris johson was hospitalized,after testing positive,[precautionary-only]--brexit was a major move away from socialism,it doenot work,famine,despair,desolation.-I am hearing just tonight we are almost over the worst of this pandemic in large portions of the usa-very possibly start up the economy--this country was never designed to be shut down.-a lot to be learned about this shut down.-for the future-of epidemics.--I hope something here helps you stay healthy and gets you and the rest of the members get through this awful pandemic,-help is just around the corner..--please stay safe and healthy,-sincerely james waller from the other kent-usa
 
Ah, I took adriamycin for my breast cancer. It was surprising how well I tolerated it. I hope it works well for Pumpernickel.

Unfortunately James the situation re Covid 19 ('china flu') is the most serious threat to the human race in decades :cry: I am afraid I cannot agree with you about Donald Trump, but that aside please take it from someone who is hearing accounts from a daily 'Frontline' NHS worker (Paramedic/Doctor) that what we (the UK) are seeing on the News is just the tip of the Iceberg :cry: The reality of dealing with Covid 19 and it's devastating effects is going to take it's toll on so many people in so many ways. Possibly for the remainder of their lives. :cry:

Anyway, all of the above is not really for this thread is it. I do hope that Pumpernickle remains comfortable and that she is still eating xx

At least Pumpernickle will still receive her treatment James. I know it is additionally unsettling to not have continuity of care with regards to which DVM is available, but I guess everything is so disrupted now due to the Pandemic and the most important thing is that somehow essential ongoing treatment is given, even if it is not by the same DVM.

Still thinking of you all there over the pond, stay well, stay strong :love:
