Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Help!!!

Thank you it's hard work and I'm exhausted but it can't be as bad as what mummy bun feels like. I've taken over full care of the older 5 and my goodness they are running me ragged lol they are proper loveable now tho they even groom u as your stroking them lol. Honestly they are gunna be amazing babies for someone if I can bear to let them go

Take a look at Willow&Squiggles' thread ..... so hard to let babies go

I am always amazed by people who foster bunnies until they are able to find permanent homes.

I've done this for 25 years. For me the pleasure of 'meeting' new rabbits, getting to know their personalities and then waving goodbye to a permanent lovely home outweighs the desire to have them always with me :)

Little update: mumma bun is doing an amazing job and is happily running around and letting me attend to her babies. The older babies are absolutely amazing they are growing in size and personality and do mini baby binkys lol so cute. They are honestly the sweetest little buns I've ever known they are enjoying life and have got to the stage where everything is an adventure or food....my poor carpet lol. They are so fun to watch. The new babies are growing well and a few are now venturing out of the nest there is 1 that is slightly smaller than the others and I'm having to check him/her regularly as a couple of times the more boisterous kits have pushed him/her out of the nest. So far so good I'm so happy that we've not lost any yet. The vet checks are definitely putting my mind at ease that everyone is happy and healthy. My purse however is not as happy lol but they're worth every penny. Thanks again for all the help and advice

Awww thanks for posting such a lovely update

Yes rabbits (multiple) can be hard on the wallet and the carpet, but as you say, worth every penny :D

Lovely to hear that they are all doing well :D

I have some serious respect for how mumma bun has coped she is so sweet and loveable....with me anyway she's not keen on the kids(14,12&5) or the partner but that's prob coz I haven't really let anyone else near her since I got her as she's been nursing.

Do you think you'll be keeping them?

Well there is 1 that I'm head over heals for don't get me wrong I love them all but this little guy/girl (younger litter) is so sweet he/she has been the first to explore and is very confident already. He/she is coming out of the nest for a head scratch when I check them and talk to them(sad I know lol). I think he/she defo knows what's it's doing pulling on my heart strings and the OH hasn't made it any easier by saying I can keep him/her if I want

Oh that sounds like a definite then! And no, you're not sad at all ..I talk to mine all the time :)

What a lovely thread. I talk to and sing to all my pets, you are not alone on that one!

Mumma bun and new babies had their check up today and another clean bill of health for them all even the tiniest 1....soooo happy to hear that as I'd been worried about that 1 the most as it's literally half the size of the largest baby. Mumma is getting a bit temperamental with them as they keep coming out of the nest and trying to feed from her so I'm a little worried she may eventually reject them but the vet says it's normal for mum to get abit stroppy if they're trying to overfeed from her but not to rule out rejection. I've started putting hay in the nest for them to nibble but so far I haven't seen them eating anything I always c them crowded round mum trying to feed tho. The vet checked her milk and said there is plenty as I was worried she may not have enough for them after the older babies as well she's been nursing continuously for 7 weeks. Not too sure why they seem so hungry for her but they are all plump warm and a good size for they're age so she must be feeding them. The vet said that as she rejected her first litter she is more likely to reject this litter but I'm hoping that she doesn't. I think she only rejected the first litter because she had more babies as she was fine before then. Only time will tell I guess. I'm spending more time with her helping out with the babies and giving her time out from the babies when they get to much these babies are being little terrors following her around for more milk. Over confident and verydetermined. Ordinarily u don't see mum feeding but these 5 seek her out a lot. She seems to have chilled out abit now I'm doing more for her but I'm mindful of the fact that I don't want to stress her out by over doing it she's currently happily laying on my lap getting some much needed fuss and baby free time. The older babies are still doing amazingly and are 7 wks old 2moz. They enjoy cuddles as much as running around. They are off for a *fingers crossed* final check up next week when they're 8 weeks old. My other half has announced that there's too many buns now (14 inc all babies)meanwhile I'm in bunny heaven lol

What an amazing update, and how wonderfully you're caring for them

Bunny Heaven eh? I know that feeling where OH says there's too many buns. You've a little colony now ...

I love the way you describe caring for the Mumma, she is lucky to have you around :)

I defo have a soft spot for mumma she has shown such strength and character. I've only had her and dad for about 10 weeks they came from a home where they were in a hutch in a garage and ignored other than food thrown in daily and occasional clean outs. They were well fed but not really loved and cared for and tbh I haven't spent as much time with mum as I usually would have done whilst socialising her as she's needed quiet with the babies but she so sweet and friendly she prefers cuddles more than dad and I've spent much more time with him at the mo but then I did take his manhood away lol. Dad is still living by himself at the mo the plan was to rebond them once the little buns had new homes but as it's still going to be a few months I may bond him to my other 2 girls he's been quarantined from them and it's been just over 6 weeks since his castration. Not sure how my girls will take to him but I think I need to give it a go as he looks so miserable by himself. I haven't yet tried to bond either of them to my other girls as I quarantine for at least 4 weeks and use that time to treat them for parasites etc. I wouldn't even attempt an introduction between the others and mumma whilst she still has her babies it would be to stressful for them all but hopefully eventually they can all live together in harmony I've already warned the OH an extension to the rabbit home may be needed he builds them for me as large as I want he's good at stuff like that. If I can't bond them then I think I'll have to half the garden as I like them to have free run outside on nice days but that's a while off yet anyway
