Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

I have just bought a rabbit today (8 weeks old) as a companion to my other rabbit. I have noticed that when she is still here head is moving slowly from side to side constantly. Is there anything wrong with her ? She seems happy and is feeding well ?

is she a pink eyed white?

i have had some bunnies that do tend to sway from side to side.
she may have a problem, or it could just be she has bad eye sight. one bunny i have had used to sway but that was because she had an ulcer on her eye. i have had quite a few pink eyed whites that do this.

Yeah, my pink eyed white mouse does that too! We call it "tracing". We think it looks cute! He does it when he sees movement outside his cage, we think it might help him judge distance.

It may be grease in his ear. Grease/wax as in dirt generated by daily exposure to air. No difference than the grease/wax in human ear.

Why not clean them? You should clean them in anyway, regardless whether this is the issue.

Use cotton swab dipped w/ baby oil, and clean his ear. YOu may have to feel the inner earlobe with your baby finger for the first time to get a feeling of the ear structure.

hi

I don't think an 8 week old bunny would have a lot of grease build up in his ears - I'd go with the red eyesight theory 8)
