  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Darn cheek  :x :x    having a lie-in :?:  that would be the day...I have been up since 6am mucking out bunnies and have just sat down for breakfast at 10.30am!!
I think either of those products are absolutely fine, if they are of human consumption value then they should be okay for bunnies too :D
I would not worry about the one product saying it is not to be used for babies under 3 months old, most bunnies can tolerate Liquid Paraffin, except the very young and frail perhaps.
Just make sure you follow the dosage guidelines carefully, we tend to give the childs dose less a third....but this is an estimate, and depends on each particular product check with your vet if you want to be sure. :)

who me     Boots will have a sudden increase in profits now from their sales of Liquid paraffin

Up at 6am Adele  we believe you   you should move all the bunnies indoors  that way you can stay in your jim-jams in the warmth to do the mucking out  :D

I also use the liquid paraffin from the chemist, only costs about 90p. As for the P in the box, that means pharmacy only
