  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Blockage Question

Well whatever he seems to be eating at the moment, I would wave it in front of his face each time you check on him to reassure yourself that he is still eating.

Our cameras were quite cheap, but they're not wifi. I think most people use wifi.

Thank you everyone, our little boy still seems to be doing well. His bloods came back pretty normal, the vet was really happy with them. He has slightly elevated calcium levels, but she said nothing of concern. I do give them a fair amount of leafy greens from my veg patch, so going to try giving less of that and more forage just incase. He is still on Tramadol and gut meds at the moment, tomorrow when he comes off of them I hope he will still have the same energy and appetite.

I'm really glad Hamilton is doing well now. And that's really good news that there was nothing of concern in his bloods. I hope he'll keep doing well without his medication. I've said this in your other thread, but given the frequency of his stasis episodes, it might be an idea to keep him on the gut meds permanently, if your vet is okay with that? It has really helped Sophie.
