  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Poor boy isn't eating again and is sucking in and uncomfortable, he's had meds so just hoping it's not a really severe case :(

We've got landscapers here that started today plus it's hot, probably hasn't helped tbh. Although he was all happy earlier and took treats and got into someones bag who came to fix the velux.. So I've caught it fast at least

Sending loads of vibes for your lovely boy. I hope his meds help him recover soon.

Thanks everyone, has anyone used calpol for their bun?

William can't find any liquid tramadol anywhere, so he's said we can use infant calpol. Just wondered if anyone has used this?

Sending lots of vibes for him. I haven’t used calpol for a bun before but if it’s on rabbit savvy vet advice :?

I think Calpol is Paracetamol, so not the same as Tramadol. I presume that William has advised the dosage.

Yes, the Paracetamol one, don’t use the Ibuprofen one.

Oh yea it's just paracetamol! Just wondered if anyone had used this for a bun before?

Lots of vibes for your lovely boy. If one of my preferred crab lane vets said use calpol I would but I've no experience

Sending vibes for dear Atticus. Poor lad, he and I both have chronically dodgy tums, I really feel for him. :( Hope he is better soon. xxxx
