I assume they did a full blood profile, not just check blood glucose ?
If he has not improved at all after 12 hours at home I would get him back to the Vet. Sometimes an obstruction can start to move, but then get stuck again further along the GI tract. This leads to a build up of gurgling gas behind it and a recurrence of bloating. Hence Xrays are often needed to monitor exactly what is going on. With a BG of 23 personally I would expect an X-ray to be taken at the outset. But that is just my unqualified opinion.
Really hope he has shown signs of improvement by now.
