Rabbit suddenly attacking us

Wellington

Young Bun
We have a brother/sister pair of two year old rabbits, Bonnie and Basil. They are very friendly and although they are outdoor rabbits, they tend to come indoors in the evening and spend the evening lounging around the living room until we put them back in their hutch. We leave the door open so they can come and go as they please.

Recently Bonnie has started attacking us. She jumps up onto the sofa and scrabbles at us and bites us. I don’t understand why - it’s like she’s angry with us. It can’t be fear or a belief that we are invading her territory, as she only does it when we’re indoors and she seeks us out to do it. She’ll be lying on the floor perfectly happily, and then get up, come over to us and bite us. I can’t think what we’re doing to offend her.

Any ideas? Or advice on how we should react? The bites aren’t savage, blood-drawing ones, but they’re quite sharp nips and it’s getting quite annoying.

Some females, even when spayed, become rather bossy at times, especially in the Spring when they start to think of babies.
