Change in urine colour - blood?

Last night I noticed one small patch of different colour urine in the litter tray, I wasn't too worried as they had eaten dandelions that day but tonight there's lots more that colour. I think there is more urine there than normal too. I don't know if it's Jake or Fern, both are acting normal and their (white) bottoms are clean.

I don't think there's anything in their diet to cause this colour, they only had about 4 small dandelions each on Saturday morning and otherwise nothing has changed. They do get a small chunk of carrot sometimes but I've never had urine this colour before.

I'm going to try and get a urine sample (any tips?!) and figure out who it is some how :( the tissue is where I've squished some of the megazorb onto some toilet roll.

It doesn’t look too red to me from the photo on the kitchen roll I think it looks normal but obviously I would keep an eye on it if it looks different to usual.
 
It's been like this for Cookie for a while and I had a urine test a few days ago. I found out he has a urinary tract infection, now he is being treated. I hope it's not like that, at first I thought it was food or seasonal and there were no other signs of illness. But when this color did not healed, I became restless and had a test
 
I know hydrogen peroxide, which many have in their first aid supplies, bubbles, oxidizes, if it contacts fresh blood.
Red orange urine from diet will be uniform color. If blood is mixed with urine, sometimes you can see specks of red., like tiny clots.
Vet test is a good idea.
When I need urine sample I put bunny in empty pet carrier tipped slightly so pee pools to one side. You can also try empty litter box with a screen or grate to keep feet pee free.

Thank you, I'm just shocked as there's been no change in diet but this is definitely not their usual colour?! I've left them with no litter in the trays and I've syringed up some urine to do a dipstick but the urine is thick/so deep in colour I can't see the colour of the dipstick test so pretty useless! It is uniform in colour at least, looks very orange on the hay
 
Dandelions are diuretic (so more wee than usual), and often cause pigment to go through into the urine - sometimes it's quite dramatic. It looks like coloured urine to me, but see what happens tomorrow, just in case. If they are the first dandelions of the season, I'm pretty sure it's just that. It's too much of a coincidence. Things should be back to normal. If not, it's vet time.
 
Thick urine sounds like possible bladder sludge, though that alone does not explain why it got so dark imo.
If it is sludge, then it is good that your bunny is passing it.
Have you determined who made the questionable pee?
 
Thank you for the reassurance :) I'm still not sure who, and the urine is still dark orange/red despite no change in diet... It was 1st dandelions of the season but they had have them before this year from this batch and no change in urine :?
 
In my experience (with piggies, admittedly), blood in urine doesn't look orange, but red. When I had bunnies their urine was pretty much always orange.
 
Thank you, it just panicked me as it's not the norm for Jake or Fern! I have an inkling it's Jake, as he spends more time in the trays and was in after I cleaned them and then there was the different colour urine there, but Fern was nearby so I guess could've nipped in and out but I think it's less likely..

I have been feeding extra/different hays since Fern was poorly and lots of foragy bits, but for weeks then all of a sudden the urine has changed... I'll mention it at Ferns specialist appt tomorrow (hoping to get her signed off!) but hopefully it's normal then, just odd timing!
