Dust free timothy hay

KCG

Cookie is an allergic rabbit and hay triggers it. The meadow grass hay I gave in Turkey was less dusty. But the timothy hays I bought here is pretty dusty. This causes an increase in sneezing. I bought Versele Laga and Beaphar Care + brand timothy hays, but I was not satisfied. I just bought Supreme Selective timothy hay, it looks less dusty to my eyes. But less dusty timothy hay open to suggestions.

There are some ways of reducing the dust such as not using the bottom of the bag, shaking each handful of hay outside, not using a hay feeder / rack. A rabbit specialist here in the UK (not one i know myself) recommends wetting hay

I wet the hay, but it does not dry. I'm probably not spreading well, and there's no room to spread. :( But I will consider your advice on hay, thank you so much.

the specialist I spoke of said to wet / soak the hay - as much as you plan to feed & serve it that way. There was no talk of drying it again. I think wetting hay it's wise only to wet what you'll use. I'd get worried about mould otherwise. Got to say never tried wet hay on my bunnies yet. i would if i needed to though

I have already done the same, I wet it as much as I will use it daily. But the bottoms didn't dry out so I thought it wasn't good for us. :| I'm also afraid of bacteria/mold growth. :|
