Aoife - Ill Again :-(

Oh poor lass  We're still thinking of her over here and hoping she can recover. What a very scary thing to have happened. I hope you are holding up okay, Jane, it had to have been a terrible shock for you. ((((((Huge hugs))))))
Come on, Aoife, please get better (((((((Healing vibes)))))) xxxxx

I've only just come on so just caught this thread, sending so many vibes for your girl, really hope that she is rallying xx

Aoife is still not eating and no poo. Our Vet is certain that Aoife does NOT have an obstruction.

I have not posted about Aoife’s previous problems over the last few months, but they include an inflammatory eye condition and after consultation and treatment advice from an Ophthalmic Specialist the condition was deemed to be autoimmune in origin. The symptoms are controlled with eye drops .Our Vet believes Aoife’s current illness could also be autoimmune related and *might* have been triggered by the Triple vaccine given last Thursday.

Aoife is an exceptionally nervous Rabbit, probably due to the fact that she has very poor eyesight. She always has. She cannot go in the garden for a run around, she just goes into a screaming ( literally) panic. She will only allow me to pick her up or enter her enclosure.

In view of the above and after a lot of discussion me and our Vet have agreed it would be unethical to subject Aoife to a battery of diagnostics. Some of which would need to be done at The Beaumont in Camden, involving a lot of travelling. Aoife would be beyond terrified.

If we cannot get her through this episode of bloat/ stasis we will have to let her go

I realise some might disagree with our decision, it has not been taken lightly and is based 100% on what is best for Aoife.

Oh poor, you've been through such hard things and it continues. Aoife I hope you recover quickly and you don't have to make this decision. Xxxx

Also, I would like to point out that you can make the right decision for your rabbit, you know him better than anyone else.

Jane, You are doing what is in Aoife's best interest, and that is true love.

Sending vibes that the expert care by you and your vet, along with Aoife's spirit will allow her to get through this illness.

I'm so sorry, Jane.
There is hope, but if the worst comes to the worst I am absolutely certain you will make the right decision.
xxxxx

Sending lots more vibes to Aoife. I hope she is able to recover. Also thinking of you.

Thinking of you and Aoife and hoping things turn back to good for her soon. You know I support whatever decisions you make for your beloved pets. I really hope you won't have to make this one. (((((Huge hugs)))))) xxxxx

How is Endeavour doing? I'm guessing he's pretty worried about his lovely lady.

Sending more vibes, but you know Aoife and no decision would have been taken lightly. xx
