The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. A little spotting after cleaning scent glands?

Tiggertime

Young Bun
My wife picked Sophia up first thing this morning for a brush and when she put her on the tea towel on the bench she noticed a couple of reddish spots where she'd been sitting. She gave her a good check over and couldn't see anything, though she is a furry little girl and very dark in her colouring. Her bum looked nice and clear (we had another look when I got up), and when she's been on the floor/tea towel/white door cill/white bed sheet since there was no more evidence of any bleed/discharge. She went for some poos - good ones, nothing to report - and we've both inspected - no sign of any residue or bleed. She's had a wee - looks normal. Touch wood she's seems fine otherwise - quite lively, munching, pooing. She's also been spayed quite a while back.

When she first checked her though, my lass could smell her glands. So we're wondering, could she have been cleaning her glands and caused a little spotting?

Scent glands should not bleed unless they are impacted/ infected

Is your Doe spayed ?

Are you certain what you saw was blood and not dark urine ?

If it was blood are you sure the source was not from a pulled nail ?

Well she's just checked her again - can't see anything. She's not letting her check her nails properly though the little madam.

Look how cute she is though...

More good poos and nothing more to report. Hopefully just us over-panicking (again) and it's just been a slight nail injury.
