  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Any advice on a eye abscess ( corneal lesions)

LOVIEBUN

New Kit
My bunny Rosie has a abscess ( corneal lesions) in her left eye.The first vet i took her to was a emergency vet and they had me bring her in 4x to have antibiotic injections, also had me give her oral antibiotic twice a day , and drops 3x a day. This didn't get rid of it.. Then i took her to a reg vet and now they're saying that its hard to get in the eye and get a sample of the puss to send and have it grown to find out what type it is so we can give propper antibiotics.. And the other thing they said is we may have to remove the eye.. Well they only tried one type of antibiotic so far.. She can see out of it because i tested and she blinks just fine w it... Its just it has these little white pussy spots in it and it looks awful.. So they said go to a eye vet next..We're talking i've already spend 500 plus dollars... I love Rosie so much and wish there was something here that would GIVE ..i've searched and searched and searched online for answers... ANy ideas? Thought i'd come here because i fig u ALL love yur rabbits too... Please help...also i did try a natural thing called carnivora.. ( p.s She is very young a black cute bunZ not quite a yr old..She has a bestY her name is Daisy and she is 4yrs old ) ok any help would b appreciated i'm so desperate at this point... Thanks, LOVEIBUN gal

I would advise taking her to an Eye Specialist. The symptoms you are describing sounds very much like EC induced Phacoclastic Uveitis to me
