Default Back at the vets (Update 24th March)

Itís been a while without a vet visit so Phillip decided heíd step up.

    Heís become incontinent again

Itís been happening for a couple of weeks so I started a course of panacur when it started and booked a vet appointment for today. Heís well within himself and itís only been happening late at night but when I got home today at 4.30pm he was completely soaked underneath

Just waiting at the vet now

Back from the vet. They managed to get a urine sample which was negative for infection but very diluted so heís basically just leaking water.
Iíve been told to stop his daily diuretic medicines for the fluid around his heart for two weeks to see if that has any impact, since he has not deteriorated since the last reduction and the fluid on his last scan was minimal.

Iím not particularly hopeful that it will help though as he was having these problems on and off before he went on the diuretic several years ago. Anyway I asked what the outcome would be if this doesnít help and the vet said itís likely to be a problem with how his kidneys filter, with the end result of kidney failure. He said heís not in kidney failure at the moment but the thought of it is just devastating. My sweet boy is only 3 and a half

Oh no, hope he manages well without the diuretic and that you can get him sorted.

Dilly had some meds for leaking, I will see if I can find the record.
