Colours expectations marten smoke - black self

Floofbunny

Young Bun
Hi,

Once again with the hypothetical questions.

If you paired a black self carrying bew and opal/or blue to a marten smoke pearl...

What could you get?

I know marten is a chinchilla gene and otter.
Self is dominant to chinchilla but recessive to otter. Meaning you can't get marten.
So could you get otter, even though there is no otter only marten present?

Smoke pearl is a dilute sable.
Sable is recessive to self, but this self also carries dilute. So could make dilute, but not a smoke/sable.

Opal is a agouti, which is always dominant.
So could you get opal, even if it's only carried by one bunny?

But does that mean you would get otters, agoutis (opal) and/or blues.
Or would you just get blacks as it's so dominant and he only carried the other colours and she doesn't.

Unfortunately, calculators I find don't allow them to carry colours only visuals.

It's just so interesting!

This is a forum for people who adopt rabbits from rescues rather than breed them which is probably why you're not getting any replies. Maybe try a rabbit breeders' forum?

People on this forum would say a lovable bunny!
Rabbit genetics is even complicated for people who breed tight lines for show purposes where exacting standards of perfection must be met. That is why few of the offspring are kept in their herds and how the lucky ones go to pet stores for sale as pets.
