Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Vibes for Blossom Please

Oh please don't feel guilty, bunnies are such fragile little creatures, you've done your best getting her help. Sending loads of vibes for your girl xxx

Sending many, many vibes for Blossom. It's good that she's getting treatment now. Hopefully that'll help her feel better soon. You're not a terrible bunny parent, honestly; you've done exactly what you should do in this situation, and bunnies getting sick is often something that just happens even when we care for them really well.

Thank you for all the vibes.

Just had our first update, she's settled in well and had all her meds and syringes and is taking them well. No output yet but apparently she's seeming quite chilled.

The nurses have been out to buy her some of her favourite greens bless them. They're hopeful she'll stay stable overnight and produce some pellets too.

Apparently shes not hiding away from them like earlier which makes me think they've done a great job with managing her pain. Hopefully the rest will follow on.

I sort of wish I could nurse her at home but the long trip plus I'm not fantastic with needles puts pay to that really.

Please don’t feel guilty. And I’m sure the vet won’t mind you asked for the exotic vet. I’m sure they are used to that and they all have specialisms I’m sure.

Rabbits are so fragile, and you are doing the best you can for her

I know it’s hard xx

I'm really sorry Blossom is poorly, but I'm pleased to read that she is holding her own at the vet.

I can only echo what others have said. Bunnies are really fragile creatures that are so prone to becoming unwell that you really have nothing to feel guilty about.

I'm she's taking her meds and recovery food well. She'll really benefit from the hands on care at the vet, including the fluid therapy which will hopefully help push everything through.

I'm so sorry to hear Blossom is unwell:(
Don't feel guilty! You've done everything right and now she gets help! Lots and lots of vibes for her!

Knowing nurses are out getting her fave greens shows how dedicated they are to her care. Your update shows she is making progress. Sending more vibes she will continue her improvement.

Morning update from the vet.

Blossom is eating, drinking and passing pellets although only normal ones so they're not quite sure what's happened to the impact they could feel yesterday near her liver as it seems to have disappeared.

She has chewed through 4 drip lines since perking up [emoji1787] and has been transitioned onto oral meds.

Her gut is still a little quiet but all signs are good and shes not showing any signs of stress from being away from home yet.

If she continues to improve on the oral meds we should be able to bring her home this afternoon so we can take up the nursing care and have her in a nice familiar environment.

Thank you for all the vibes.

We're not out of the woods yet but she now has fairly good gut noises and eating really well.

Shes starting to show signs of stress and refusing syringe feeds so they're going to discharge her and see how we get on at home. I can't pick her up til 4.30 but hopefully she'll be ok til then.

She's having metacam, emeprid and cisapride to come home with until Monday and then see how she goes.

She's home!

She's mad at me for the car trip and has a droopy ear from the drip but she is nibbling tiny bits and getting busy grooming off the vet smells.

She and Rodney greeted each other beautifully through their barrier and I wonder if they've missed each other today. He's been a bit quiet and sticking close to his cage.

We're ceasing our cage swapping til next week to keep things low stress for her and hopefully that combined with the meds will help her heal.

My only annoyance is the metacam dosage is in ml and I detest transferring it from the bottle and much prefer the dog syringes.
