  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Has anyone used this yet?
My vet is requesting i book Cookie in for this in December but I am really anxious introducing something new at her age, she will be 12 in Feb.
What do you think?

Hi, I asked exactly the same question back in June, although Treacle is 7 1/2, but she was fine. Also she had never had the RHD2 vaccine at all, as it wasn't available up here, so that was a further concern. Quite a few others have said that their buns have been fine. Your vet should give Cookie a quick check up before the vaccine anyway, so you could voice your concern then.

She will be vaccinated one way or another for sure. I'm just concerned introducing some new drug at her age.

A vaccine is not a drug :). And the old Nobivac Myxo RHD dual vaccine is being withdrawn in the near future. So that will mean that the only way to vaccinate against Myxomatosis will be the new triple vaccine. No single myxomatosis vaccines are available any more .

It will probably be less stressful for her to have a single vaccination covering all 3 diseases, than two separate ones a few weeks apart to do the same job.

Hi, my two 9 year old bunnies had the 3 in 1 vaccine last month. They were fine, no problems at all :)
