  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

gosh - I'd really hate to advise & give the wrong advice. You kind of get used to the idea of syringe feeding if their BG is ok don't you? but thats because the BG suggests no blockage whereas his presentation does?. I'd honestly call & say following todays consult where xyz found is it ok to syringe feed. So sorry I can#t help xx

Exactly, his bg was 10.2 but there's a large lump :/

No one to call now, I did ask tho, they didn't know what to advise :/

Totally get it, I wouldn't know what to advise either if someone asked me [emoji38] xx

Is there any out of hour’s exotics vet he could go to?
Potentially one a couple hours drive away, debating that atm, Evelyn isn't very well, just waiting on a 111 call back for her.. My life is going so well rn [emoji38] we have an appointment first thing tomorrow with William, but Idk if this can wait tbh.

Not necessarily. Does he feel cold to touch ? What is his general demeanour like ?
Yea, very cold ears, he's just shifting around and making bad smells. He's very quiet, belly pressing and kicking his back legs out a lot. Not himself at all

I'm really sorry to read that Atticus is so poorly 😔 It's so difficult to know what to do for the best when you can't get hold of a good exotics vet. I really hope he is able to pull through xx

No advice here but only hoping you've seen some improvement in him. Poor Atticus. Many healing vibes on their way to you. xxxxx

Been at work so only just read this thread. Sorry to be late with the vibes but sending lots and lots of them xxx

Thanks everyone so much for the support, I really really appreciate it x

He's passed 4 teeny poop things, they aren't like a pellet because it's him, so that's okay, I'm glad something has come out, but he still isn't eating, just gunna carry on with meds til first thing I think now, so worried about him. He's been such a good boy though, he's sat still for all the fluids even when I made a bit of a mess of one lot and some of the fluid got on his fur [emoji21] and he's taken all his meds okay, even though emeprid is gross. He tried to get on Michaels lap earlier which was a good sign I thought, but other than that where he perked up for a bit he's still very quiet :( I'm so tired I barely slept last night, I'm gunna sleep with him tonight as his next meds are at 4am and I don't wanna wake Evelyn up, so Michaels gunna stay with her and I'ma stay with Atticus. I'm just hoping he can continue to get rid of whatever is in there, I'm assuming fur.

Fingers crossed for you all!

Hopefully passing something means the meds are doing their job slowly but surely.
