Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Rupert post op check and possible urine incontinence

Rupert has generally recovered really well from his dental, he's back to his normal self this morning. I have two concerns- his poo remains smaller than normal and he has been leaking a bit of urine. I actually noticed this last weekend on one occasion but didn't think anything of it. I noticed it several times yesterday so now I'm wondering if that's partly why he went off his food along with the dental issues. He's going for a post op check up today and I've already mentioned it to the vet over the phone this morning so they're going to check him over again. He has no other symptoms of urine infection, just a bit of incontinence, but I'd still rather get him checked out.

Has he ever had a 28 day course of Fenbendazole (Panacur) to try to control EC? It may be worth asking the Vet about doing so, especially if no evidence of a UTI is found. The other possibility is bladder sludge x

I think I wormed him and Lilac when I first bought him home but I can't be 100% certain now. I could always get some panacur just to be on the safe side, will ask the vet. He doesn't seem in any pain when peeing or at any other time, he's been running around honking this morning.

Have ordered some panacur to be on the safe side, it won't hurt for him to have a course and will also see what the vet says later.

The vet wasn't hugely helpful unfortunately, it wasn't my usual vet and he said he couldn't find anything wrong so he said to monitor him over the weekend. I'll give him the panacur regardless when it arrives. I have metacam and emeprid for emergencies but he seems in pretty good spirits so fingers crossed.

Hope that he does not develop any further symptoms x

Thanks, I will be keeping a very close eye over the weekend.

Just wondering if he is found to have any issues going forwards, does anyone have any experience of these to support bladder health?
