Just got back from the vets. My usual vet is pretty busy lately so I decided to try the P@H vets as they had an appointment today. I explained that she basically didn't seem to be able to control her urination, i'd find random little dribbles around and it seemed very clear, along with her bum being wet constantly. He said she seemed perfectly healthy in the general check over but she weed herself and he managed to get a sample. He said it was unusually clear and did a dip test on it etc. He said the glucose levels seemed high from that alone but he wanted to check furhter and so I agreed for a blood sample to be taken. Again glucose seemed high - 16mmol I believe he said. He basically said his first thought would be diabetes, or some kind of kidney problem. He also said diabetes is incredibly rare for rabbits and considering her young age (7 months) and general good weight, diet and appearance he was confused why she would have something like that. I looked it up when I got home and stress can increase glucose in blood - and I know being handled and driven around would be stressful for her, she's not a big fan of it. He said he'd do some research and call me back tomorrow to discuss it further. I honestly don't know what to think. It was pretty upsetting to hear something as serious as that when I was expecting a UTI or hormonal changes being the culprit. Overall I don't know what to think. She and Finn do drink a lot, but I use a water bowl so its easier for them to drink their fill.
Anyway I'm hoping with the samples he has he looks further into it and manages to find some answer.
