    Default Heron encounter

I went for a walk late morning today. Along the canal towpath there was a heron. I kept walking briskly until I was quite close then slowed down. I went slower and slower, taking photos, until I was 6' away and then it took off and landed 6' behind me Was a great encounter!

    Some pics:

    As close as I got:

Zoomed in (my phone's not great at zoom):

Definitely one of the best photos I've ever taken Most of my best are off-the-cuff shots with whatever I have to hand Could do with some cropping etc. but it's good enough to show you lot as is

    The geeky one...

Often available for bunny runs: PM for details.

I can't see your pics (my fault not yours). So when you've got time, could you repost, using a different method please.
