Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Small bald patch

Young Bun
Hi I didn’t want my first photos of Reese to be linked to a question on health 🙁 but we noticed this morning that Reese has a bald patch on his nose. It doesn’t appear to be sore or irritated, he appears to be in good health. We have no idea how this happened, he is a free roaming bunny who has his own room. There is nothing in the room to cause injury. We have noticed he is grooming himself more than usual, but hardly any hair comes onto his grooming comb when we groom him. He has get speckles of white stuff (I initially thought that was from one of his toys, but he hasn’t had the toy for a couple of days now) around his face, I tried to capture this in the pics. Does anyone know what has caused the bald patch and what the white speckles are?

Hopefully you can see the pics.

He is yes. He was a bit hot today but he’s been fine in himself. I think I got over paranoid about it all. He has a willow tunnel that he likes to nibble on, he may have hurt himself with the tunnel.
