Advice re after care post neutering of 2 male rabbits

Hello.
We have 2 seven month old male rabbits that were bonded, and both were neutered yesterday. The vet advised us to keep them apart last night but that it should be ok the put them together today. We did this and one of them won’t let the other one near him, and keeps running off. The one trying to get to the other one is not being aggressive though. In order not to damage their wounds we have therefore separated them again, but are worried that this will break the bond. They are in cages next to each other. The one that is running puts his nose through the bars, but when the other one comes close, he just bolts away from him.
I suppose it is early days, and they are probably a bit sore, but both re eating, pooping and peeing ok. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Franky.

I have never bonded 2 boys but when rabbits which have been bonded are neutered, it can upset the hierarchy. Also, after neutering, there is a spike of hormones so something to take into account. It sounds like your boys need time now for hormones to settle and then you can go ahead with re-bonding them, in a neutral area. If you had not had them neutered, they would almost certainly have started fighting soon as they got older.
