Hello there! my bunny romeo is almost two years old or something, im not sure because i adopted him form a lady who rescued him from the streets one rainy night (noone was looking for him)
He free roams inside my room, I have mostly tiles, but half of my room is covered by rugs, and in his own space (a play pen with his litter box and food and water bowls) has a pretty soft matt.
Recently ive noticed he has a big red bump on one of his hind soles, and i know its sore hocks. My vet had warned me that pododermatitis is a common issue with bunnies. I have began applying a cream reommended by me by a friend, she said the vet told her to use it and it helped her bunny. He is not overweight at all, so im pretty sure its a problem with my flooring.
I cant change the flooring on my whole room, and he has been getting more playtime in the yard, but i was wondering if anyone knew about some sort of diy sock i could use for him, something to soften the preassure on his hind legs? I do not live in the usa, so i cant buy any specific product (here in chile theres not much available for bunnies).
I would really appreciate any imput! I want whats best for romeo, and for him to be with me for many more years!!
