Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Runny nose?Is it the Snuffles??

Hello!I have a question regarding my bunny Oreo.Shes about four months old and just got back from the vet a few days ago.I noticed she started sneezing occasionaly and has a bit of yellow-ish mucus coming from her left nostril. Not a lot ,just enough to make the fur around the nosrtil kinda dirty.Otherwise shes just as energetic as normal.Zooming around, coming to greet me,purring and licking me.Shes eating and drinking absolutely fine. She went to the vet to get a general check up and a vaccine. The vet said all was well.I did notice something before the symptoms occured.I dont know if its anything but when she drank water I could her her stomach kinda gurgling and creaking.Maybe she was drinking too fast?Any help is greatly appreciated 💗

Hi sorry to hear that your bunny is sneezing. I don't haven't had a bunny that has had sniffles, so can't really comment on that. It might be worth phoning the vet and running it by them when you can. Good to hear bunny is eating and drinking ok, if that changes then obviously you would need to contact vet sooner. Let us know how Oreo gets on.

I would keep an eye on her and if the symptoms don't go away phone the Vet and explain how she is. Hope she will be ok.

The vaccination will have impacted on her immune system, an immune response being essential for any vaccine to be effective. If she was incubating a Respiratory Tract infection asymptomatically prior to the vaccination the immune response to the vaccine may have meant that the latent bacterial respiratory infection has become 'active'. If she is still sneezing and/or her symptoms have worsened I would call your Vet to seek their Professional advice.

Thanks to anyone who responded<3 I phoned the vet anyway and they said it was a possible reaction to the vaccine. Her sneezes are less often and I think shes getting through it!Thanks again everyone:love:
