  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

bunny bald spot?

my rabbit is a Holland lop, and he doesn't have any bold spots, he doesn't shed too much but under his ears he has a small bold spot, on both ears in the same spot. idk if this is the hair moving itself when I lift his ear up, or an actual bald spot. what do u think? ive used spot on twice and a homemade remedy so I doubt he has anything that's irritating his ears, he doesn't have a head tilt so idk. I don't have a picture tho. its a bit smaller than a marble

Hope it is nothing to worry about. My lop bunny has what sometimes looks like a small bald spot at the top of his ears, but in his case I think it is just a fur parting.

Have the spots always been there, or have they just appeared, difficult to comment without photos. If in doubt a call to the vets might put your mind at rest, a lot of them are doing video consultations at the moment, so that could be an option.
